I LOVE seeing pops find her confidence that asshat ripped from her. It's very fitting and I want to know more about the "I'm in the mafia.... well so am i" part. Will that be coming out soon? Does tora have theories? Gahhhh need to know. But I love watching tora activate his "civilian camouflage" and learning to keep his thug under control around her. I'm getting the feeling that she will see his thug side more soon in order to protect her. I'm hoping with her growth that she will understand the levels he has to go to.

*Cracks knuckles* First off- Yall are gonna want to go reread episode 82 ‘kay? Now, I know a lot of us were saddened at the way Tora let go of Poppy’s hand last episode. But THIS is why we reserve judgment, people!! Because now we get the rest of the picture (or at least more of it). More on that in a bit but let’s start from the beginning. Did anyone else worry about how Poppy was going to react to Tora’s “rejection”? Because I did. Because of the parallels to Episode 82 – the one where Tora and Poppy have the cafe incident. In that episode, as they crossed the street to get coffee, they held hands while Tora mused that he’s not used to team operations- he’s always worked solo. And Tora makes a comment about how blind optimism can get you in trouble. Poppy certainly is giving off blind optimism vibes at the beginning of this Louise-saving mission to me. Her behavior could be a coping mechanism for nerves. Or maybe a way to try and bolster Tora’s own nerves and stress in letting her into his world (here I might be projecting). Or maybe she really is excited to be on an adventure with Tora to help someone. I’m not sure yet. BUT just like in episode 82- where Tora is letting himself enjoy his time with Poppy- he’s abruptly reminded that he’s “muscle for hire” and forgetting his priorities, while acting like a pathetic lovesick schoolboy. In Episode 82, it’s a text from Damien that pulls him out of Poppy’s glow and back into the dark depths of his harsh mind. This time, it’s a couple out on a date who mistakes Tora for someone harassing Poppy. Sure, Tora’s looks are intimidating, but these good samaritans, while trying to help, only serve to remind Tora how “wrong” he is for her- and that they have a job to do- and an unpleasant one at that. But is Poppy hurt? Well, if she is, she hides it well. All I see is righteous anger on Tora’s behalf. Her look and her “Screw you assholes”, to me, translates to “keep your opinions to yourself you ignorant dicks. You don’t know anything about us.” Their judgment makes her MAD. And she runs after Tora with no ill will towards him. In fact… she’s about to get a whole lot angrier. They’ve found their boat… But getting it isn’t going to be easy, and Tora sees that right away. With his tats on full display, he knows an ex-law officer isn’t going to rent him a boat. He stops self consciously outside the shop, and *once again* Poppy sees his distress. She's an observant little hamster, and this night- she has taken on the role of his champion. And I am LOVING IT. She barged in- once again completely ill-equipped for the situation- but does that stop her? Heck no. But… the tough cookie behind the desk is no push over. Tora comes in -a united front…and what does he fucking do? HE TAKES HER HAND. *CUE FANGIRLS SCREAMING* I’m not sure if he does this in thanks, to show the woman behind the desk that they’re “together”, or because he himself needs reassurance from Poppy- but now it’s Poppy’s turn to release his hand. And not only does she purposefully release him, but she firmly states that their relationship is business and nothing else. Again- something else I'm not sure about. Is Poppy trying to respect Tora’s boundaries? Maybe she thinks he’s grabbing her hand for her sake? Or to make them leave and give up? And while I don’t think she’s being spiteful, maybe she’s setting her own boundaries too. But I want to clarify. I’ve said “I’m not sure if…” a few times tonight. This isn’t because Lily hasn’t made the story clear. It’s not lacking on her part. In fact– she’s *done her job* as an author. These last few episodes have highlighted the conflict and difficulty that lies between Tora and Poppy becoming close. They both want it, that’s clear. But exactly HOW to navigate this is hard for them. They are fluctuating from acting on instinct and deliberately governing their actions for each other. This is my favorite part of relationships- real and fictional. What parts of yourself have to adapt (for the betterment of you both) and which parts do you need to show and trust with your partner? It’s confusing to know when to be conservative and when to act with abandon. Anyho- here’s where Poppy’s anger comes OUT. She has hit her limit of ignorant assholes and she’s coming out FIERY. Poppy, the patron saint of wounded tigers, is slinging around words like knives. “Fashion statement” “Freedom of Choice” “Piece of Art”. And Tora BLUSHES. I wonder how many people have ever stood up for him? Have actually talked about his looks in a positive and appreciative way. She chose for him to be a model. Not a bodyguard, not something that emphasized his strength and ability- she focused on his BEAUTY. Imagine that. Being Tora, having mostly likely been used for his intimidating looks all his life, being defended by the girl he likes and called a model? If that man didn't have an ego the size of Texas before, HE DOES NOW. I’m not sure if the woman believes Poppy (LOL jk she does NOT believe Poppy) or just wants her to shut up and not be a Karen on Yelp, but she gives in. And that look on Tora’s face when he’s bracing for whatever boat- lady is gonna point or throw at him undoes all of Poppy’s work- let's be real. It reads “lethal weapon” clearer than his business card. But you know what? Blind optimism Poppy has been redeemed with that ADORABLE FUCKING SMILE. She did it! They did it! And the mission continues. Andddd Lousie. I’m just gonna be here, weeping and keeping my fingers crossed for her and her little guy… don’t hurt me Lily.. Don’t hurt me.

Poppy standing up for Tora reminded me of the time he stood up for her in the alley when she was being chased! Well done Poppy standing up for you MAN! ❤️ I LOVE YOU LILILYDUSK!!!! You make my week worth waiting for Friday. Heheheh

I can never get enough of Poppy standing up for Tora and showing that she's not afraid to speak up. I'm all here for Tora and Poppy protecting each other and showing they're loved. His face standing over her isn't helping the case entirely though lol. I'm also digging getting to see the point of gils wife. It's honestly terrifying but makes me want to see more, to see what happened. Amazing episode! ❤️

I'm always surprised at how his art gets more and more incredible, the little details, everything is so beautiful! 💕 It's great to see how Tora and Poppy are being more open with each other, talking, a mature and sweet relationship. I can't wait to see more interactions between them, and I love the other characters, they're all so adorable and I'm curious to know more about each one. (And I'm so happy Gil's wife is alive!) 🥺💕

A few thoughts for tonight. 1. SO HAPPY to see Poppy's hamster balls in action. Tiny badass strikes again! 💪👊 2. Insecure Tora is heartbreakingly adorable. 🥺 3. Apart from the "Uncle Tora" incident, Poppy is really pretty amazing at coming up with backstories on the fly. I recall she did something similar with Nick and his gang at the noodle place. I'd be surprised if Tora wasn't at least a little impressed...despite realizing there was no way that lady bought it. 4. TORA IS SO PRETTY. That is all. Model, indeed. Boat lady may not buy it, but there's no doubt in another life he could definitely make people weep gracing the pages of their magazines. The man was so beautifully drawn this whole episode. Sigh. 😍 5. Um, did the projectile from the keys just take Poppy's hat clean off?? Damn, lady, you ain't playing around! 🤯😂😂😂 Thanks Lilydusk for once again giving us so much to ponder over the next week!! 🥰

One more thing and I PROMISE I will stfu..until next episode! I LOVED seeing the little flowers in Poppy’s last line. I missed seeing those! And it’s been a minute because shit keeps going sideways but she is straight up up excited! Who doesn’t love a little motor boat action?! No but seriously those little flowers always make me smile so thank you 🌼 Even if the next panels of Louise made my heart clench 😭

y'all remember how much Tora hates it when people make assumptions about him based on the tats and stuff? I'm wondering if he's now also worried that it will sort of rub off on Poppy too, and he's trying to avoid that. like i wouldn't be surprised if that's why he pulled away, right after those guys checked on them. they worried/assumed there was something bad happening because of how Tora looks, so now he's worried that people will start making assumptions about Poppy too, if they spend too much time together

“Screw you, assholes.” OK, Poppy, I am totally on board with you sticking a finger up at everyone whispering around you! They have a point, tiger needs to work on his behaviour. BUT I see she recognises part - PART - of why he’s suddenly so salty and I understand her protectiveness of him. I feel the exact same way. But he doesn’t get a full pass from me because he’s still acting like a bit of a dick. Calling him out is one of my favourite things to do. I ADORE this man, but he’s still a douche sometimes. Ha! God then he has to go and do something that makes me feel bad for him! That sweat drop when he realises the boat renter is an ex cop - JOE *sobbing* - and then clutching at his tattoos knowing how this is going to go, I did also want to smother him in my bubble wrap too. It rankles me so much that people get judged as soon as they see tattoos. It’s expressive, creative and feels good. And he has some of the most beautiful designs. Mine are a huge part of who I am, and I dare anyone to tell me they don’t like them, or wouldn’t employ me etc because of them. Tora just gets it worse because of his automatic resting bitch face and height. But of course Poppy has his back and has shown him time and again she has. Hmmm, that hand grab from Tora, was that to get her out of there quickly because this sharp woman wasn’t buying what they were selling at first, or because he was looking for an anchor in the moment? Or as a form of protection from the woman’s judgements. I’ve no doubt he knew what she was reaching for. Tables have turned though, Poppy is just as quick to release his hand as he was before. Love how quick Poppy is to defend his tattoos! She’s taking no prisoners in here and I love to see her stand up for the cause. Tora’s blush just seals it for me. “...nice reflexes. Modelling school trained ya well, I see…” I mean clearly she wasn’t believing the story, but that throw was something else! And he didn’t even flinch as he caught them! Saving that little moment in my memory bank. Oh Louise, what the fuck did chin hairs do to you!! I think my heart was racing along with hers during that. The suspense is giving me more grey hair than I already have!
