I just love that this arc started with the Straw Hats wanting to repair their ship while butting heads with the local crime gang, and now we're embroiled in a full-on government conspiracy and assassination plot involving a weapon of mass destruction. This is definitely the most excited I've been for more episodes thus far and I'm glad to see you're enjoying the rollercoaster just as much! :)

While Oda has never confirmed or denied it.... it is pretty clear to me that he based CP9 on real life organizations like Interpol or the CIA. Uncovering and getting a hold of the blueprints of an ancient Super Weapon to "ensure the security" of the World sounds exactly like something the CIA would do.
