I love this episode… but I also just love Jermaine. Bryce is fun too and the Jameses cameo is silly. Finn acting weird I think is as you said him just trying to be supportive

Finn wasn't necessarily acting out of character, he was just uncomfortable with Jake's new look and didn't want to see him directly (like other people have said) Also.... this episode for me it's the conclusion of Jake's character arc, which makes it really endearing to me.
