I liked the way you described it..... If the East Blue Saga was the "Prologue" of One Piece.... Then everything between Reverse Mountain and Marineford can definitely be considered "Act 1". So excited to see your reaction the rest of the Arc.

It's at moments like this I remember, half of one piece is Luffy being a complete crackhead in situations where his enemies expect him to be afraid. No strategy, no planning, no fear of death. He's a crazy motherfucker and if you wanna stop him you're gonna have to kill him.

Also regarding your comments at the end, does anyone actually shit-talk the live action one piece? Like even 2+ years along and rounding the corner on season 2 I feel like it remains fairly beloved and hyped. It recognizes that the format is different and uses knowledge of future events to tell a version of the story that fits that format. And I think most people understand that.

Yeah, I honestly rarely see anything bad said about the live-action. Some criticism for cutting certain things, sure, but not as an overall package. I personally love it as a (somewhat) more grounded take on the story with a lot of its own unique charm. Not to mention being a lot easier to watch with other people, like I plan to do soon with a friend of mine who's curious about One Piece but doesn't want to commit to the anime. I expect to see even more of that going forward.
