So.... now that you've noticed Luffy's new tattoo and it's similarity to Ace's.... here's a fun fact for you.... Ace's Tattoo spelled his own name.... however.... what i bet you never noticed is that it was spelled as "Asce", and the "S" had a cross on it. Oda revealed around this time that the crossed-out S in Ace's tattoo was a tribute to his fallen brother Sabo. That guy who Sengoku was talking to is "Commander-In-Chief" Kong, the anime doesn't mention it but he was the previous Fleet Admiral of the Marines before Sengoku took the position. Now he's the Commander-In-Chief which is a Goverment Position, and it means that he's in charge of coordinating and organizing all the branches of the Goverment... including the Marines, Cipher Pol, The Seven Warlords of the Sea and all other non-military branches. He's basically the Bridge between the people with the highest positions in the World Goverment (Like the 5 Elders) and the rest of the people working on the "Lower" world. Also Fun Fact: there are several Kong easter eggs in the live action. His likeness is portrayed in the East Blue Map shown in the end credits of Season 1. And more recently.... you can also spot a bust statue of him (alongside a bust of Sengoku) in the marine base that Robin is raiding in the trailers for Season 2. Yep..... Koby has Haki, remember those scenes of him panicking over all the death and suffering of both Marines and Pirates in the war? that was him using/unlocking his Haki. The Island where "Mad Monk" Urouge was sailing towards is called "Raijin" (the name of the Japanese God of Lightning). And... although this hasn't been confirmed yet by Oda.... it seems that the island was heavily inspired by a real-life weather phenomenon that occurs in the City of Maracaibo in Venezuela (more specifically in Lake Maracaibo), called "Relámpago del Catatumbo" (Catatumbo Lightning)..... where near-continuous lighting storms happen. Lightning flashes happen 16 to 40 times per minute, during 160 to 260 consecutive nights each year. This phenomenon is sometimes known as "The Everlasting Storm", and it just so happens that the City of Maracaibo is my Hometown :D
