DT is a great character! Catra still The Best. And yeah. Scorpia delayed todo.much Leaving Catra

It's interesting that you said the thing about Scorpia acting like she's in a cult, because... well, you're right! They kinda all are. Which really explains why all of the Horde kids (and Hordak and Shadow Weaver, even though they didn't grow up in The Horde, they created/joined it as adults) act the way they do. From what I recall, ND Stevenson even intentionally wrote a lot of the Horde mentality based upon his own experiences growing up in a very insular and restrictive Christian community, which makes a lot more of the show make even more sense. In Scorpia's case, I kinda think she tells herself lies and pretends that she's thriving under the shitty circumstances they're all under because deep down she knows that if she admitted that things are as bad as they are, she'd be miserable too. And underneath it all, I think she's very scared to leave the place where she not only grew up and her family legacy came from, but was also kinda confined to and sheltered inside of for her entire life up until this point. Some of her attitudes do border even on toxic positivity (she even makes me think of Joy from Inside Out sometimes, who is also an awesome character that we love, but who's toxic positivity not only negatively affects others in ways that she doesn't always notice or see, but also herself because she's intentionally shutting out and not thinking about things that hurt her in a way that's making her emotionally repressed), and I don't say that to disparage her, she's absolutely one of my top 5 characters in the entire show. The toxic positivity is very obviously a coping mechanism for her. Can definitely relate to it too. But The Horde doesn't leave anyone who grew up in the Fright Zone's borders without any sort of toxic behavior or trait that they have to willingly unlearn, to varying degrees. And while Catra is absolutely mistreating her and being a toxic friend (especially in this season and season 3), we also do see Scorpia throughout the show disregarding Catra's very clearly set boundaries pretty consistently (especially when it comes to physical affection/space/contact). The whole thing is super tough to watch and relatable for a lot of people in many ways. But it's so cool to watch her make the decision to start to try to grow beyond those behaviors, beyond The Horde, and out of the way her relationship with Catra is. We love Princess Scorpia! <3

Are we not getting she-ra this week? It’s of course totally fine if we aren’t, I’m just excited for the next episodes

Catra is absolutely a monster, but I just realized she did actually protect Scorpia in this episode. "Entrapta must have taken them with her." She didn't throw Scorpia under the bus and blame her for the lost recordings. Edit: hit send instead of a paragraph break-- like the bare minimum absolutely does not make up for how she treats Scorpia (and other people), but still interesting to note and the first time I noticed that after watching this show about five or six times. At this point the first time around, I was going "holy shit how the hell is she going to be redeemed??? IS she going to be redeemed? Do I even want her to be?" People bend over backwards to defend Catra but dear god she was so hard to like even if she was objectively an interesting and well written character

(Re-posting my comment from the original upload of this episode, for the sake of conversation!) I *think* Glimmer was genuinely bluffing about the truth spell being painful if cast wrong. In the portal reality, Micah seems convinced that his truth spell didn't work on Adora, and she was fine (nevermind that it *did* work just fine). That probably would have been worth mentioning if he had been worried about that being a possible outcome. That said, it's still a pretty dark bluff for the queen of Bright Moon! "Starting to lose it a little bit there, right?" Oh, Catra has pretty much fully lost it at this point. What happened with creating the portal, and then in the portal reality (especially with Adora, and Adora *rejecting* the "everything's perfect" reality) -- she's in pure lash-out mode. No one is a friend (now even Scorpia, who appeared willing to stick with her no matter the abuse). Everyone is a tool. Everything is a threat. Where *does* she go from here? How *could* she possibly come back from this? Want to also say that I migrated over from YT, and was so moved by how classy you were for putting these reactions up for free over here after all the YT struggles, that I'm now a subscribed channel patron too! Love being here for your journey with this show!

I love the corruption of Glimmer, this is why season 4 is my favorite
