One Piece is a great story... but it also has it's flaws... One of them which is very apparent here is that.... i fully believe that Tashigi is a wasted character, Oda could've easily written her so that she's at least comparable to Zoro in terms of skill, building an awesome parallel with the rivalry he had with his childhood friend Kuina... but after the Time-skip, and especially after this Arc... it is clear as day that Tashigi is already completely outclassed by the Enemies of the New World, and that Zoro is also several leagues above her (and at this point... it is very unlikely that she'll ever be able to catch up to him). Although this is not just a Tashigi problem.... she is actually just a symptom of the much larger problem of Zoro's storyline. What i mean by this is that.... despite Zoro's goal of wanting to become the Greatest Swordsman in the World.... the story has almost never given him the opportunity to progress his skills against pure swordsmen. The only characters he has fought who were pure swordsmen and who actually posed a real challenge to him (other than Mihawk) are Hatchan in Arlong Park and Ryuma's Corpse in Thriller Bark (Ohm, Mr. 1 and Kaku don't count because they were not pure swordsmen, and other pure swordsmen he has fought like Captain T-Bone and Hyouzou were not a particularly big challenge). Heck... you could even argue that his fight with Hatchan wasn't even a "real" challenge because Zoro was still affected by the severe injury Mihawk gave him at the Baratie. My point here is.... there is such a lack of True Swordsmen in the story to fill the gap of power between Zoro and Mihawk.... that it had to be Mihawk himself the one who offered training to Zoro during the last 2 years. He had to be trained by his ultimate enemy because there was literally no other powerful swordsman stablished in the story who could fill the role of mentor (the only one i can think off who could've taken that role is Vista from the Whitebeard Pirates, but we don't know what's currently going on with him). All of that makes Zoro's personal progress in the story feel kinda arbitrary, which... in my opinion.... is a subtancial flaw of the writing.

By the way... Zoro does have Armament Haki, but just like Tashigi explained.... he chose not to use it... because the fear he made Monet feel was enough to neutralize her. It's definitely a very cool moment.... but it's also the strongest evidence that Tashigi is just no longer a relevant player, at least power-wise (this could obviously change in the future, but until then i will maintain my position that Tashigi is a wasted character).
