What an incredible way to end season 1!! Can't get over how good this episode is and everything it managed to accomplish with Mando; IG-11 and Kuiil will live forever in my heart but this new villain has me terrified for Mandalore!!

I absolutely love the opening of this Finale as well lol, Just two Stormtroops bored & having a natter while waiting for orders 🤣🤣 that would so be me lol, really kinda shows that most low ranking imps really are just regular dudes. If they didn't hit the baby I would've felt a bit bad when they died 😂 But their reactions to hearing Moff Gideon killing his own troopers over the comms really sells the idea of how these guys are kept in line. Then Gideon just casually name dropping all 3 of the trio and their backstories really is such a power play like calling Greef a Disgraced Magistrate. Then Knowing Carasynthia was New Republican former Rebel & from Alderaan and she for sure would know about E-Webs. And Finally name dropping Mando's real name Din Djarin sends chills and hearing how connected Gideon was to the whole whatever happened to Mandalore between the events in Rebels & This show, I guess it's safe to assume all this was going on during the Original Trilogy, whatever the "Great Purge/Night Of A Thousand Years" is definitely took place then. Then him showing up with the *Darksaber* of all things?!?! Like Whattt?!?!?!? 😲😲🤯 Not only did it raise alarms & questions about how he has it & more on what happened but just seeing it in Live Action was absolutely Mind Blowing because at the time being the first proper live action Star Wars show it was just that big feeling of vindication when they bring in & acknowledge things exclusively from the animated series which a lot of Star Wars fans mostly overlooked/disregarded or didn't think seriously of at the time, and it just created one of those funny moments of most fans going "Woah Is that a Black Lightsaber?!" and us CloneWars/Rebels fans going "Hehe I know what that is!!" 😂 But anyway Gideon having the Darksaber creates an even bigger blank on what the heck happened to Mandalore & Mandalorians for that matter and especially Bo-Katan during the events of the Original Trilogy and I never thought about this before but I love the Kallus Comparison you made it really does feel like when Kallus showed up with a Lasat Bo-Rifle and the whole Implications & story behind that. You also had the Creepy Imperial Client guy in the earlier episodes who we now know worked for Gideon just casually having a whole Container full of Pure Beskar which we learnt from Big Machine-Gun Mando down in the Forge must've been collected during the "Great Purge" and we also had the Client's vague line about "Finding a Mandalorian these days is harder than finding the Steel" already we can kinda form a story in our heads. It kinda feels like how they did Sabine's story in Rebels where you look at everything they've said so far and all the bits & info the show's slowly dropped overtime and you end up putting together a whole story and keep filling blanks & adding more to it each time. And lastly the little moment where Cara was panicking about the Empire possibly putting her in a "Mind Flayer" and Greef Rolling his eyes being all "Ugh those aren't real that was just Propaganda" was quite funny tbh 😂 but also kinda gives an insight into how the empire maintained fear. "Mind Flayer" It makes me think.. do you remember in Bad Batch Premiere where on Kamino they hooked Crosshair up to that Machine where it looked like Electric Waves entered his head/mind & "intensified" his Inhibitor Chip? Also in the Final Episode when Hemlock put the Batch in similar looking Machines to try and "Condition" them, idk if that type of machine was ever given a name but it makes me think of something like that! But it's probably a worse version of it if it's something the Empire had & spread Fear & Propaganda with. Idk it could be a throwaway line and maybe it was just propaganda but we know by now Star Wars always takes advantage of "throwaway lines" 😂 so I like to think that type of machine is some kind of "Mind Flayer" But now we onto Season 2 which I'm very excited for you to see! We've got our set up being Hunting for Jedi! Dunno how the heck Mando's gonna find one though 😂 barely any of those left so where the heck does he begin?! I guess we'll see how that plays out lol

This opening was just amazing 😂 It’s surprising how much it does from world-building with how it shows low-level Troopers and how they respond to their higher-ups, and of course they had to hurt the poor baby, so they immediately deserve death! Gideon is such an incredible villain and this scene was perfect introduction to him, it’s such an insane move to just have this character completely dominate his opponents by naming and dropping information that even the audience doesn’t know, such an awesome way to finally learn Din’s name 😂 😂 The Darksaber is such an insane addition to all this, I have so many questions but I completely forgot what a big deal this would be for the legitimacy of the animated shows, the vindication that came from this must have been insane knowing half the audience would have skipped over everything that explains this. Can’t wait to see everything that will come from this bombshell but it’s clear that Mandalore definitely isn’t doing too good. As soon as they said Gideon was a former ISB agent my mind went immediately to Kallus, both are involved with extermination missions, retrieved a weapon that can only be won through combat, and then got caught up in a protagonist that’s been affected by this villain’s actions. It became so clear from everything that’s been said now that after the Saxon brothers were removed, the Empire retaliated, did some very bad things to Mandalore where somehow their materials became more common than the people! Love the comparison with Sabine’s story with information being drop feed and I kind of hope this stays a Mandalorian thing 🤣 Like whenever one of them gets focus like this or just surrounding the culture in general, the story takes it’s time and peels back the mystery slowly removing the armour of a Mando to reveal the heart behind it all. Loved Cara Dune’s reactions to everything throughout this episode, it’s a great way to show this really strong character’s vulnerabilities but I love the world-building in seeing another way the Empire tried to fight the Rebels. I have no doubt there’ll be some truth to the propaganda as with everything we’ve seen I wouldn’t put it past the Empire to make something so horrifying. Cannot wait for season 2 now!!! The hunt for the Jedi just sets up the idea that Mando, being a kind of outsider to Star Wars since he’s not soaked in all the lore, now has to get more connected with all the Force stuff, can’t wait to see how the story brings him into it all but I know it’s going to be so much fun to find out!
