It's all starting to come together! Loved seeing all the Mandalorians come out of hiding and helping defend Nevarro but now my paranoia is going crazy, Gideon's somehow escaped, and Elia really didn't want the New Republic getting involved. What on Earth was their angle in all this?

In Rebels Hondo made it clear that he USED to be a pirate leader but that those days were over. so we saw him im rebels being more of an small scale opportunist. and remember it is now 10 years since the end of rebels. Hondo is getting up there in age. i mean the last time Ahsoka faced Hondo (during the orphan episodes) she was 16, now she's 45. I dont know how old Hondo was back then but he was certainly a lot older than 16. i'm guessing at this point in time he's gotta be in his 60s or so. (not that age is gonna keep him down) but he's not as likely to have anywhere as near of the kinda pull he used to have during the clone wars era. So when the Armor says you have walked both worlds what she is basically saying you were raised to remove your helmet, but then you came here and lived out life and lived our ways. as you said when the armor called upon her, she stood there showing respect to her as the leader of the covert even those she was born and raised as mandalorian royalty. if you remember when she first met Mando she didn't have that same respect for his ways. but now she put that aside and has lived as one of them. More over when she told her to remove her helmet, Bo Katan hesitated. She had to be told twice and yet even then she hesitated before doing so. That alone i think showed The Armor that Bo Katan really did Honor their ways even if she herself didn't believe in them. And so only she having followed both walks of mandalorian life could unite all mandalorians. The armor knows that other mandalorians would not follow them nor do they respected them and their ways. Neither would their people follow the other mandalorians who neither respect them nor follow their ways. But Bo Katan, they can follow. She is one of them and yet she earned the respect of their covert by living as one of them and she shows her respect by hesitating to remove her helmet even when instructed to do so by the head of the covert. And so she can unite both factions and restore mandalore. This doesn't mean that they are changing their way of life. (clearly the armor didn't remove her helmet in turn) it just means that they are acknowledging that Bo Katan despite not having taken their vow was willing to follow their says so she has earned their respect despite being an outsider. (or at least that is how I interpret it) As for the emphasis of the show shifting to Bo Katan ... Mando s3 of Mando is essentially the story of a knight who finds an exiled queen. Bo Katan as the exiled queen is certainly getting a lot of attention, but none of what is going on would happen without Mando. Bo Katan would still have been sitting moping on her throne when the tie bombers came to destory it if it hadn't been for Mando pushing to return to mandolore and sending Grogu to her for help. that motivated her to take action this one time. and now that i am writing this i forced to wonder if the reason the tie bombers destroyed her home was for her role in helping mando defeat Moff Gideon. that could also even be the reason why Navarro has been targeted as well since Greef Karga was sent to capture him and grogu back in season 1 but he turned on the empire (aka moff gideon) and sided with Mando. wow i am literally just come up with this as i am writing to you. it fits, now that we find out that someone rescued Moff gideon. Gideon or someone in the imperial remnant is going after Mando and his friends. anyway back to the topic at hand, after her home was destroyed Mando took her to the covert, and taught her how to follow the way. and in this episode again the mandalorians took action because of Mando's connection to greef Karga, navarro, and Carson Tiva. he is the one that petitions the covert to fight for navarro and who secured them a new home, even if they now have their eyes set on taking back mandalore. no doubt moving forward Mando will play a critical role achieving that goal. So even if Bo Katan is in the Center of the plot, she isn't the one moving it forward. That is still Mando's job. Whatever happens or doesn't happen in regards to Mandalore it will fall spuarely on Mando's shoulder. if they win its because he stepped up to do it. if they fail its because he was unable to do what was needed. essentially Bo Katan is the ring from Lord of the rings that Mando aka Frodo needs to take to mordor so that she can retake mandalore. yes its slightly different since she is a character rather than an object and so she is essentially joining him as the shows tritagonist (aka 3rd most important character)

Well I think the problem is that there are still too many people still loyal to the empire so of course they would do anything they can to have the new republic fail

Even if Hondo’s out of the game right now, he’ll still be the only king of the Pirate for me 😂 Though with all this it does make me wonder about the larger organisation of the Pirates like what actually makes one of them king and was the even one around when Hondo was in control. Loved how this showed off how Bo-Katan can be a unifier, she never felt like she could be when we saw her in Rebels and it always felt like Sabine might have an easier time at it, but now we’ve gotten to see her develop to this point where she’s now the perfect candidate to rule and bring together all Mandalorians. I think you’ve interpreted this the best, the Covert isn’t changing, they just recognise that if they are going to get their home planet back, they’re going to need to make some compromises. Loved how you’ve put this, the season is following a knight trying to help their exiled Queen, this is definitely Bo-Katan’s story though, but it’s made possible through Mando, really as you said, everything happening now is because of what Mando did, Bo is seen as his ally, so Mando’s enemies are also coming for her. It’s a great way to continue her story, which requires a lot of attention while being able to fit it around another character. I am looking forward to seeing how this will continue and balance out Mando and Bo’s role, I think it just could have been better handled with clarity; this feels like the Book of Bo-Katan within the larger story of ‘The Mandalorian’.

True, this time in the galaxy might be more dangerous than when the Empire reigned because of this. During the Empire, you had no choice but to go along with i,t but now with more freedom, people can choose to accept the New Republic or go against it.
