AAAHHH, the start of this show was so amazing!! Granted, that ending was a little questionable, but besides that, I loved this so much! I already have so many questions, like Sabine apparently being a Padawan?! But my favourite part had to be this new Baylan and his apprentice! 🤯

here are a few random comments. when ryder turns to ask jai kell about sabine if you look closely just above jai kell's shoulder you can see a vehicle moving AWAY from town. that is likely Sabine. (or just some random citizen that decided to skip but i like to think its sabine) also while ryder says several years ago we know that the current year in universe is 9 aby and we also know that rebels ended in 1 bby. so really this is the 10th year anniversary of the end of rebels. something i found rather telling is ryder's final comment to sabine before he leaves her to talk to ahsoka. "you're gonna want to hear what she has to say" it seems clear to me that in the absense of everyone else she and ryder have gotten close. he is acting like family. he seems close enough that her to know that she'd probably be really pissed by presence. you would expect given that ahsoka left her, that this woudl be something sabine keeps secret. she isn't exactly someone known for being open with people about the things that have happened to her in the past. so for ryder to know and be as sympathetic as he's being here suggests they are close enough for her to open up to him. i love how huyang literally almost from the beginning of the show is constantly trying to push ahsoka back to sabine. "that is the job of a jedi padawan learner ... which i am not" (i love that line) and the "if both trained in the jedi arts they will be formidable adversaries. for you alone. of course, you may not be alone for much longer. speaking of that and the scene with ryder, the tension on that platform. WOW! i mean listen to huyang as he excuses himself. the guy sounds sad. it doesn't help that the music is such a downer as well. you just feel this sense of loss. and the way sabine outright ignores ahsoka not even looking at her until after address both ryder and huyang. the music alone in this scene and the next can tell the story between them all on its own. clearly the need to find Ezra is a big motivator for sabine but i think it is wrong to discount the relationship between these two women. the music as sabine steps into the T6 is so light, whimsical, and nostolgic, but the swell when she looks at her bunk says it all. i have to say i'm rather impressed with your reaction to the revelation of sabine's padawan status. some did not take it anywhere as well as you did. as for the question of is she force sensitive that is a good question. but it may also be irrelevant. george lucas was often been asked about using the force. his answer has always been that anyone can use the force. but that it just comes easier to some people. he compares it to learning something like karate. some people are just naturally talented and pick it up easily but that doesn't mean that those who aren't can't learn it. they just need to invest more time and effort to learn it. the same is true about the force. so the people he calls "naturally gifted" would be people who we normally call "force sensitive" (not this is not a term that came from lucas himself. it came about from one of the early star wars books written by someone else) using the force is easy to them. but anyone who puts in the time and effort to learn could eventually learn to use the force. there is even a book about a young kid that yoda makes into a jedi despite him not being "force sensitive" i also think based on kanan's words that being a mandalorian is a negative modifier to being able to use the force. as for sabine many people say that there is zero indication of her being force sensitive in rebels and that this is coming out of left field and that this is a major mischaracterization. i personally believe i saw sabine doing things in rebels that made me raise my eyebrows. her athleticism for example is gold medal/world recording breaking level for sure. but if you compare her to what ezra was able to do before he ever started to train under kanan and she pales in comparison. i think i even posted on your channel in that first episode i calculated he jumped something like 18 feet high and either 30 or 60 feet across. i think i clocked sabine's best jump at somewhere around 6 feet high (off of her hands) and 15 feet or so across. her numbers are incredible but ezra beats her by a factor of 2 -4 times. still there are other things that stood out to me such as knowing that fenn rau was there to talk about giving her the dark saber and making her lead, or when she looked at a picture and realized it was some kind of language. that seems to suggest something to me, but i've been told that none of that is an indictor of force sensitivity. oh fun note here. Sabine's bike helmet. it has the aurobesh on it. if you translate it, it says "BABE" i just find that funny. list of things in sabine's room/box in her box she keeps various things like rebel patches and such but of note she keeps her paint sprayer and her mother hair pin along with the holorecording of ezra. oh and of course the lightsaber. around her room are various things like trooper helmets and such though of special note is ezra's favorite trooper helmet which he wore at the battle of mandalore to free her father. she also has a trashcan that has the same paint job as her masterwork tie fighter. she also has drawing of loth cats loth wolves, X-d out stormtroopers, tookas, and even a puffer pig! she also has a giant image of her phoenix call sign on one of her walls. finally she has an image of a conver on her wall this one is never actually shown on screen but can be seen in behind the scenes pictures of her room. it should go without saying that Convers are heavily associated with Ahsoka because of morai. (hence why she wore a convor on her pauldron for seaons 3 AND 4 the first time she ever kept a pauldron design) gotta love how sabine's high tech projector looks like an old slide show projector. star wars at its best. speaking of high tech equipment. if you pay close attention it looks different from the last time we saw it in rebels. Hera is also such a MOM! A: she took the map when i explicitly told her not to. H: maybe she just needed some space to think. Hu: more clearly according to lady wren H: see there you go. everything gonna be fine. but then she instantly switches to best friend mode a coupel of minutes later when she ahsoka says that she walked away from anakin just like she walked away from sabine. and hera instantly goes, "I'm sure you had your reasons" some people didn't like MEW's hera but i think she did great! something of note regarding the two ships we've seen so far. both Ahsoka's T6 and Baylans Eta class shuttles are known as "Jedi ambassadorial shuttles" i have been told that the red paint on the shuttles differentiated them for civillian ships of the same kind as the red paint indicated they had diplomatic immunity and were working for either the senate, the chancellor, or the jedi order. though the T6 is interesting as the default model doesn't come with weapons! if you want them you have to add them in aftermarket. there was something that you didn't comment on that i shall stay quiet about until the next episode. finally (for real) i just wanted to say that you should really pay attention to the ending credits. there is a lot of meaning behind it. everything from he music to the visuals have meanings. the writing you see in the ending is not any of the traditional star wars scripts. though it is cypherable and others have already translated it. i'll come back around in an episode or 2 and translate the words on screen. i would have just linked you one of the videos where they break it all down but there are spoilery info within them. so i'll post here without any of that spoilery content. you should include the credits for ahsoka in your full version watch along.

ok i said my last random comment thread was my last but i have one more thing to say. as mentioned previously i have watched quite a few reactions of this show. some of them were from people who hadn't seen any animated star wars. and at least 1 knew almost nothing about star wars. the reception from many of them was generally good. some people were confused about some things. one person thought that ezra might have been one of hera's lovers due to her reaction about find him. a couple of people where shocked by the revelation that Ahsoka who most had seen in the mandalorian was anakin's padawan. but over all the reception was good people eventually starting picking things up as the watched though of course they lacked a lot of the depth of certain things/events due to not being familiar with rebels. over all only 1 person over all stands out to me as having just not liked it/not understood it. she stopped watching a few episodes in. everyone other reactor watched through to the end and they all said they really enjoyed it. the one person that didn't just really seemed to dislike it or maybe star wars in general? im not sure. but at one point a character uses a term that the reactor thought was proof that the writers of the show were just weird and were coming up with dumb term for things. i had to politly let her know that dave didn't invent that term it is in fact term used in a lot of star wars and that it's first usage dates back to "A New Hope"

Love all these details so much, that ship leaving has to be Sabine as it lines up far to well to be someone random; it makes so much sense for Sabine to grow close to Azadi over the years, she’s stayed on Lothal all this time and she’s clearly been a big part in it’s development so it nice that even though she’s been without a lot of people, she had someone. Huyang is just incredible 😂 It’s so much fun watching him try and push Ahsoka and Sabine together, he clearly saw something incredible when they worked together in the past and knows it just wrong for them to be apart. I’m surprised that people didn’t take the Sabine Padawan thing well, it’s a great ‘weirdness’ for me to think about and opens up so much more for the Jedi with the Force stuff. Really like how you’ve put this as it sounds just right, anyone can uses the Force, it’s just that some are born more talented and Midichlorians are just a way to measure that talent. I think the idea of her become a Jedi was definitely new to me but I remember Kanan talking about her Force capabilities and how she was blocked off or something, so I think they did a great job at hiding all this as it could easily be written off as her simply being Mandalorian yet looking back it probably was all hints. I do really want to know what made her want to be a Jedi though as that still feels unknown, like this is the first time the idea of Sabine being a Jedi has come up after watching her for 4 seasons so something drastic has to have happened for her to make this decision. Love so much all the detail they put in her room, there’s so many easter eggs from her past but I love how it all has purpose for being there, she’s moved out of the Ghost so everything has to go here now and of course she has to give it her signature Sabine flare! Really loved Hera in this! The portrayal feels older and more mature than she did in Rebels which I think is quite fitting since it has been a decade, she’s raising another kid and she’s involved in the restructuring of the galactic governance. Seeing her interactions with Ahsoka and Sabine were just perfect, it captured the vibe so well in seeing her be the Mum, friend and just trying to help work things out. Definitely want more info on the text at the end if there really is some hidden stuff there! But yeah this episode was so good and I love how much is in every aspect of it, you can feel the love and effort that went into making it by just seeing how not one aspect gets overshadowed or looked past.

Wow thanks so much for this, really wondered what other people's impressions of this would be if they hadn’t seen everything leading up to it and glad to know it’s mostly positive and the one that disliked it seems to just not vibe with Star Wars as a whole which is fair enough. It’ll be interesting to learn what that term is that someone that was weird as it seems odd that something would stick out like that.
