This episode was so much fun! Very thankful it was calmer than the last to let me process just how much is happening 😂 But I'm really enjoying the dynamic between Sabine and Ahsoka, and getting a better look at how the training's going.

so one complaint about Ahsoka (both the character and the show) is how DOUR Ahsoka has been. literally a bunch of people complained how she is nothing like she was in the clone wars. well i mean duh! she officially left the jedi order at the age of 16. she is currently 45 and her life between 16 and 45 has kinda sucked for her. that said. look at how much more smiling we are seeing from Ahsoka this episode. having Sabine back in her life has genuinely made her happier again. look at the look she gives Sabine when they encounter the Purgil. but its clear that walking away from Sabine added quite a bit of weight onto her already burdened shoulders. now with the two of them back together, her guilt is has been reduced. also tell me that you got the Tales of the Jedi vibe as she looked down at Sabine and was like "lets go again". because that was like a mental flashback to Anakin doing the same thing to her while she was taking her order 66 lessons. but semi going back to the top point. Ahsoka's reaction to Sabine telling her what Huyang said. She was not happy. speaking of huyang. When she brought up Zatochi, he tried to say she wasn't ready yet, but Ahsoka did actually overright him. Zatochi is jedi training art that was named after the the series of samurai movies of Zatoichi the blind samurai. So that whole blind fighting section was Zatochi. i do think you were right toward the end there she sensed Ahsoka but her anger and impatience started pushing her and that was when Ahsoka took her legs out. It is interesting to note especially for those who are convinced that she shouldn't be able to use the force, that Ahsoka is cautioning her away from the dark side. If you thought your student couldn't use the force, there is no need to warn them away from the darkside. but it is even possible to infer that Sabine might have started tapping into it here hence the need to shut her down. final note. episode 2 after shin left baylan on seatos to go speak with morgon, you can hear purgil and so baylan looks up and if you are paying attention to the clouds you can see one flying through the clouds. also note that on the credit scene Seatos is surrounded by purgil, just as Lothal is a wolf near it. also for some reason some people found it weird for Ahsoka to fight in space. which i think is weird because both she adn sabine have had entire fight scenes in space! so why would it be weird for her to do what she has already been shown to do?

I picked up on her more ‘depressed’ personality back in Mando and thought it captured where she is in her life super well considering all she’s been through; I’d assume people complain just forgot all the things she’s done past Clone Wars like Order 66, fighting Anakin and losing Kanan and Ezra so the fact that she’s still smiling even a little bit after all that is a miracle in itself! And I love that Sabine is bringing more of that back to her. YES! You can literally see the Anakin in her training where it’s all very intense, but she wants to make super sure that Sabine can take care of herself, just like Anakin did for Ahsoka! I think it’s quite nice that Ahsoka wanted that information hidden from Sabine, it shows a good contrast between her and Anakin’s training style where it feels like Anakin would out right tell Sabine that she’s the worst candidate to make her want to try harder and prove him wrong whereas Ahsoka wants to take a more compassionate approach. Love the detail within this scene, it’s so subtle that the argument could be made that it was a fluke but when you’re looking for any kind of Force ability within a person it becomes so obvious; and I love that she’s already being careful about the darkside, this was one of my biggest complaints with Kanan’s training and no shame to him but it took so long before he even talked to Ezra about the Darkside and where negative emotions could lead, here Ahsoka’s already being careful as she has plenty of experience with it by now. I spotted this while editing and it’s such a good detail, and considering where I’m at with recorded it makes so much sense with the connection the Purgil’s have with Seatos, being as it’s their final stop before the end. That scene was not weird at all 😂 People will really find some of the most odd things to complain about, there has been so many fight scenes outside of ships before so why would anyone find this one to be bad.

i'm getting ready to watch your edited version of ep4 now (already watched teh full version) for your thoughts and comments but i just read something that made me want to leave one final comment for episode 3. regarding Zatochi. Remember what i said about paying attention to the sound? We get to hear what Sabine does heres. Ahsoka's footsteps were edited out of that scene to show that Ahsoka is Masking her presence with the force. so her steps aren't leaving sounds, and for all we know sabine probably can't even smell her right now. Ahsoka is effectively a ghost right now as far as sabine is concerned. she can only know where Ahsoka is whenever she speaks to her. mundane warrior training would blind an opponent to force them to rely on their other senses such as sound, and smell. Zatochi, or at least the way Ahsoka is implementing it, is even more thorough than that. she's cutting herself off from all of Sabine's senses except through the force. when people see this scene they immediately think of Luke and old ben with the blastshield (hence sabine's line about not being able to see) what old ben did for luke is what we see younglings doing in the temple. its super common and traditional training. just the kind of thing that Obi Wan would do. But that ISN'T what Ahsoka is doing. She is literally being her master's student. and she's taking it the standard test and dialing it up to 10! Which i think her "let's go again" call out to her order 66 training is meant to acknowledge. like i said she i think has completely cut sabine off from all of her senses except the force. she's making it more difficult for her because she has faith in her to meet the challange, just as anakin had faith in her to beat the unbeatable. in a way she is actually trying to give Sabine that expedited training she asks for later in the episode. and as i mentioned i think it does pay off a bit when we see her sense Ahsoka's bokken. of course in my personal opinion Sabine has been showing signs of being able to do this since rebels. she has gotten flashes on insight that she had no business knowing like knowing that Fenn Rau showing up one day (what should have been a normal occurrance) actually meant he was going to speak to Kanan about her wielding a darksaber. rewatch this episode and look at Sabine and her emotions before anyone says a word to her about what they want to talk to her about. she is literally acting like she's on death row waiting for her execution. and the only trigger for this was seeing Fenn Rau come to camp. Why? should she get SO DEPRESSED from what should be a super ordinary thing? how did she know that this visit was about her using the darksaber? the difference is that in rebels she was passively tapping into the force (i think) but Ahsoka wants her to actively do so. she wants sabine actively sense her in the force. because once you can actively tap into the force to sense something, your now so much closer to being able to tap into the force to use it in an active way like doing a force push geez this was longer than i meant it to be, but thats only because i made realizations of my own as i was sharing my thoughts. so i guess in a way i should be thanking you for helping me understand some things better

Lobe how you’ve explained this! I definitely think Sabine is safely Force Sensitive at this point but just never received the training and the circumstances of her life meant she shut herself off from it. Everything Ahsoka is doing here is not just trying to get her to tap into something she doesn’t understand or is weak in but trying to establish a connection she should have made way earlier in her life and I love the detail in it, hiding from her sense, forcing her to use the Force, knowing she’s perfectly capable of doing so.
