The Heir to the Empire has arrived!! The episode was just glorious, Thrawn in all his blue splendour finally returns and honestly, I think I'd be okay with him ruling the galaxy 😂 And of course, our boy Ezzy has finally returned as well, I could not be happier; then we got a whole rabbit hole for the Lore of Peridea! 🤯

I love the great mothers reaction to Sabine. Aktropaw: "It reeks of Jedi. Klothow: It is dangerous. it will wait in solitude" notice that everyone there immediately looked to Sabine and only Sabine even though she was standing near who was trained by the jedi and at minimum made into a jedi knight, as well as his apprentice. the great mothers didn't even blink twice at them but Sabine? she is the one that REEKS of jedi and is apparently so dangerous they need to put her away. they even immediately reported her to Thrawn when he arrived. and yet there were literally people who said they must have gotten confused and detected baylan and not sabine. some people really really didn't like the idea of Sabine being a jedi. again literally everyone turned to immediately look at her. if baylan was the one to reek of jedi given his strength in the force theres no way they'd confuse the two. and even if that was the case after they took her away would they not notice that what they sensed (or smelled) as still present?! speaking of Sabine the jedi. did you notice during the fight with the mauraders that sabine was actively deflecting shots? normally she tanks the hints like mando. but in this scene she was actively deflecting shots. there are two moments that stand out to me. the most obvious deflection. is after she looses one of her blasters. she grapples a guy with her free hand turns around to shoot another and then immediately turns back to deflect a shot she shouldn't have seen coming for her and deflected it with her forearm bracer. The next one is a blink and you miss it moment, but it happens a few seconds later once she is forced to use her lightsaber. she strikes a bunch of guys with the blade but one guy lines up a shot and she swings deflecting the shot not just away from her like she had been with her armor but in this case she redirects it right back at the guy and hits him in his face plate. you can see him later clutching at his face. this marauder presumably just lost his eye. from the looks of it. So in order of interestingness she is deflecting shots back at her enemies with her lightsaber. Non force user can and have been shown to use lightsabers specifically mandalorians with the darksabers but they are not deflecting shots back at enemies with it. to those who can handle it, its just a fancy sword. no more no less. deflecting individual shots even if they aren't back at an enemy is not something ordinary people should be doing. Sabine i think is showing how truly unique she is by doing the same with her armor. i mean she turns around already in position to block a headshot! in 3 seasons of mando neither he nor any other mandalorian has every been shown to do this. they just tank whatever shots come their way or dodge. think mando on the imperial ship when he first meets bo katan. he just covered his face and ran onward toward the guys shooting at him. its especially dangerous since that shot was a headshot if she was out of place by a little bit that would have been a bullet to the face, more impressive that guy trying to shoot her wasn't directly in her line of vision when he lined up the shot. on an unrelated note did you notice that the eye of scion was red hot when it came out of hyperspace? and the afterimage of it was sparkign with lightning! this was all very different from normal hyperspace travel.

one thing last thing. we have been told that people in our galaxy learned about hyperspace from the purgil and that the nightsisters were the "first" to learn to ride them. this suggests that before hyperspace was invented people travelled via star whales! more importantly the witches didn't actually invent hyperspace. that credit goes the Rakata (in both legends and apparently in canon as well.) without hyperspace you aren't going to be going very far. the rakata were also not exactly nice people they were conquerors (at least in legends) so its doubtful that the nightsisters were able to really spread far aside from the planets along the migration which explains why their influence is only seen along that line in arcana, dathomire and seatos. (which i believe are the start, middle and end of the migration path in the main galaxy)

The Nightsisters reaction to Sabine was awesome; clear confirmation of what she is especially when she’s got Baylan and Shin standing right next to her. It’s also so interesting how afraid of Sabine the Great Mothers were, you expect super powerful witches to not really fear anything, yet it seems like they though Sabine could do some real damage to them. Love the detail in her fight scenes and it continues the trend of showing this subtle Force utility where she is sensing things and reacting to things a normal person wouldn’t. I noticed the Eye Of Scion left the afterimage but not that it was red hot, I guess that this could suggest that it’s capabilities are limited and might not be able to do to many Galactic Hyperspace jumps in it’s lifetime.

Love how much this builds on this history of Hyperspace travel and even seems to canonise the Rakata stuff!
