The world-building in this episode was nuts! I already feel so invested in all these characters, and I love how we get to see two stories from both sides of this city, through both Jayce and Vi, while their stories are incredibly different.

"You don't look like a day over three weeks for hamster." 😁 I loved the approach the show took in returning to show the events of the first episode from Piltover's point of view. Regarding the gun thing: We have actually seen enforcers have guns in the first scene of the series as well as Marcus pulling out a pistol in this episode when the kids were climbing the ladder away from him. (Yes, he pulled a gun on children). The undercity doesn't appear to have guns or proper projectile weapons in general and I can imagine Vander being greatly opposed to acquiring them (not that it would be easy anyway, in significant number at least). Imagine the response Piltover would have to being shot at by someone from the undercity: they'd probably take it as a declaration of war. Arming the undercity to a point where they could hold their own, without Piltover becoming aware of it and stomping them pre-emptively, would probably take more coordination than they have and I don't see Vander risking it lightly, even if he wasn't opposed to another war. I could also see that guns being established as Piltover's thing could have led to the people of the undercity considering them cheating or cowardly, thus not doing Powder any favours in getting appreciation for her aim. Now, the Council. The line from the richest person in Piltover, Councillor Medarda, was "and yet I remain the poorest Medarda". Although you probably caught that in editing. As for the council just following Heimerdinger's lead in their magic stance, remember, he wasn't the only or possibly even strongest opposition to it. The robotic looking councillor called it a curse and said his race was almost destroyed by it, so unless that's the calamity Heimerdinger witnessed there has been at least two civilization wiping disasters caused by magic affecting the council's judgement on the matter.

I’m really liking the hamster dude the more I see of him but now I have to wonder what this guy looked like when he was younger if this was him at 300 😂 Completely agree, it’s such a good way to balance out the large story their telling by doubling back to fill out the opposing side to make each side of this conflict feel so full. Ohh yeah 🤣 forgot that this already showed off this place has plenty of guns, but understanding it through this way that Piltover just doesn’t allow the Undercity to have guns makes so much sense. They want to keep the populace unarmed as it makes it easier for them to control them and if Powder did get a hold of one it would put a giant target on her back and Vader would have that at all. Like this approach a lot, having the Undercity have this honour about it that they see guns as the weapon of their enemy is really cool and adds a lot to the identity of these people where they collectively don’t want to sink to Piltover’s level. Yes caught this in editing and I’m building my theories around her entirely from it, her motivation must be about accumulating even more wealth through this city to gain some kind of recognition from her family. I do like the council’s debate surrounding Magic a lot but I kind of wish there was more emphasis around the robot guy’s experience, Heimerdinger took the lead without clearly giving examples of the atrocities and the actual one that’s mention gets washed over by the hypothetical possibilities of magic and Heimerdinger’s experience from who knows how long ago. So it’s clear that there is record of Magic’s atrocities in the past but now I have to wonder if there are any other cities in this world that use Magic and how they’re doing, as it could be that Piltover is a black sheep in this instance where other places are using it freely and doing fine, or everywhere else is in total chaos and Piltover is the only place that’s safe.
