I’ve been playing around with learning to make my art look Retro, 8-bit, classic video game style. Just for fun, but I was curious if there’s a TF that could be effective in this style.

Maybe someone getting sucked into their computer, Tron-style or something?

What do you think would be a cool TF for this effect?

Ooh a frogger tf with this style would be 🔥

A man into an 8-bit Birdo from Super Mario Bros 2!

OR this could be a fun new take on the "Samus into Ridley" TF idea, with a Metroid Prime style Samus transforming into an 8 Bit NES Style Ridley!

You know what, that's better than any ideas I just had. I will second birdo. Girl deserves some tf love

Alright, I'll just throw in the first idea that came to mind. A streamer is doing a live broadcast on Twitch. She is showing her community a new game that randomly dropped on Steam: "A farmer life" , a pixel-art videogame. While playing, the streamer fails one of the first missions, which asks her to simply take care of the animals living in a farm. She forgets to milk the cows... Suddenly, she disappears. As her viewers are asking each other where she went all of a sudden, the game camere changes on its own, showing that a new cow have been added to the farm. The bovine has very similar features to the streamer's and she wears a pretty sad expression. On a closer inspection, some of the viewers notices the streamer's Twitch username on her ear tag.

A pretty dark idea where a man who acquires a cursed pixel art traditional fantasy style RPG video game though he thinks there is nothing wrong with it. One of the first quests he encounters is the typical help a farmer find and recover an animal or multiple animals who have escaped, the man wanting to do something more exciting since he is supposed to be playing as some important hero, finding this kind of quest boring and assumes this is just some skippable side quest, he chooses the option to ignore and skip the quest as he goes to leave the quest NPC and game glitches out and he finds himself suddenly pulled into the game and transformed into one of the missing animals (a cow or sheep since they are usually most common in games I believe also like the idea of him also changing into a female animal). Now trapped in the game world as an animal the farmer who gives the quest treats him like he is one of the missing animals even calling him by its name (during the earlier glitching process could potentially also have the players name in the text box being distorted into the animals one with maybe something like the quest objective changing or flickering to something more suitable for a farm animal e.g. if cow TF could change from rescue the lost cow to instead be milked or eat grass etc) the transformed man is confused and shocked but is forced to obey the game programming as it now it just considers him a normal NPC creature.

NHonestly I'd go up to sixteen bit but eight, but since that isn't the question, one thing that interests me is where the TF transition happens. Most people start at the hands, nose or ears for the tf to begin. What if we had someone so focused on a game, on his controller, we see them and their human face and human hands, missing that everything behind those has changed into some eight bit creature, like original Ridley or something

Era2987

A loving couple shapeshifting into Pokemon with a female turning into Mew and the Male turning into Mewtwo. Could be cool in an 8-bit effect plus the powers could add a neat touch.
