June 2021 Report (Patreon)
Content
The month of the gamer is over, and here's what's up! (After doing both the E3 and Smash Bros. reaction streams that is)
Before we begin, June 30 marked the fourth anniversary of me creating core videos! To mark the occasion, as of this post I've been doing director's commentary streams of every core video I've made on my Discord server, open to all server members. If you're in the server, you can sign up for the Stream Alert role to be notified whenever the next stream happens (because we haven't watched ALL of them yet!), as well as other streams I may be doing in the server in the future!
HyperFlash 32 video
So yes, I mentioned I was aiming for a June release in the last report, and ended up missing it. As the scriptwriting/research process went on I had to take a look at more types of homebrew/unreleased Virtual Boy games and had to try not to get sidetracked into writing a lot about specific games. It's kinda what happens with videos where I have to talk about multiple games *cough* Famicom 3D System *cough*
Good news though, the script is finally finished, and is pretty beefy for a Things of Interest episode! I think having a Virtual Boy video that focuses more on the dedicated fan community rather than the failure of the actual system is gonna be a really refreshing thing to see. Both footage recording and voice recording are going on right now, and I've previously streamed some of the footage recording process in the Patreon channels of my Discord server as well. Thank you to those who tuned in to see them! I'm feeling a lot more confident that I'll be finally be able to get it out this month.
Other Things
Not much other updates to give on other video projects at the moment! I sound like Isabelle again. I'm sort of juggling both the HyperFlash 32 video as well as preparing for more personal business (I technically haven't graduated yet haha), which is why progress may seem to still be going at a slower pace. 2021 is still a weird year for me as I've said!
I do want to give some attention to a recent YouTube issue though. YouTube is rolling out an update to unlisted videos to change how the links work, and will render unlisted videos made before January 1, 2017 private, a change that creators will have to manually opt out. My main channel has already opted out of the change, so the videos in places like my archive playlist should hopefully remain accessible! If you also want to opt out from the change for your channel, you can do so here! I just hope a significant amount of historical online content isn't made inaccessible as a result of this one change.
That's it from me for now, gotta get back to work! Take care.
