May 2022 Report (Patreon)

Alright, recently I've been making some progress on both the YouTube and real life work side. I've been doing some work on smaller videos due to a) certain demand and b) wanting to not stress over being burnt out on the next core video. I'll definitely return to it soon after this, but for now I have updates to share on the other projects I'm working on. But before we move on to the projects in progress...

That darn quiz show idea

Alright, I think I've been holding off on it for long enough, so I think it's finally time to move ahead with this dumb idea. For those who forgot or are out of the loop, here's what I wrote a few reports back:

I have this weird idea for a bonus video and I really wanna make it happen. It will be a trivia-show type thing similar to these 'guess the track' videos hosted on Good Vibes Gaming, but with a topic that's NOTvideo game music...it's a secret and part of the reason why I wanted to make this video a reality in the first place because I don't think most people would see it coming. :)

And now I'm ready to formally gauge demand for this thing! Once again, the show's topic is about a specific type of Nintendo knowledge. What it is exactly is a secret and is the fun part of the video...if you're making a guess right now it's probably not that.

To keep it simple, I will be hosting the event in my server on a Saturday, at 11am Eastern time. I have released a Google form right at this link, and if you're interested in participating, you can fill it out by indicating the Saturdays in which you'll be available to participate.

The event will be available for everyone on the server to listen in, so if you're only interested in doing that, you do NOT need to fill out the form. If if you're reading this but still can't access my Discord server, please let me know!

Switch Sports 10-in-1 Pack | Things of Interest

Yes we're taking a look at a new generation of useless plastic accessories due to popular demand. Actually, it might not go as expected as you might think, there may or may not be some surprises in there...the majority of recording has been done for this video, and I'm aiming for a release within the month! Once again, you can check the #patreon-info channel in my Discord server for real time updates on video progress.

GBA TV Tuner | Things of Interest

So back in the uh...*scrolls through feed*

oh

So back in the February 2022 report I mentioned having obtained a GBA TV Tuner to possibly feature in a TOI video, but progress was halted by battery corrosion and its lack of will to be powered on. Well, some of the issues that stopped it from working properly have recently been fixed, so now I should be able to resume taking footage of it soon!

Plus videos

This month we took a trip through Idlefish, China's online platform for second-hand sales! It's very much a less known platform for video game window shopping (probably because it's not really applicable to the west), so I hope you enjoyed a neat little look into it! For the game preservation folks out there, there are people I know who check the site out for development material, so don't worry too much about that.

I also shared a scrapped Things of Interest pilot episode about the Famicom itself! It's kinda wacky looking back in hindsight, I'd like to think my unscripted talking skills have gotten better since, there were a lot of cuts I had to make to that video lol

And that's it for this month's update! For further updates on the quiz show idea, I'll be sharing them in my Discord server soon, so please make sure you're in it if you're interested in joining!
