September 2022 Report (Patreon)

Some progress has been made! Videos were uploaded. All that cool stuff.

The Famicom Disk System Cleaning Extravaganza

First of all, the recording for the Famicom Disk System Cleaning Extravaganza video has been completed, and scriptwriting is currently underway! Nothing much more to report beyond that, I've just been trying to squeeze in bits of scriptwriting in-between my job work and game sessions.

Rhythm Tengoku arcade video

The Rhythm Tengoku arcade video is out, and I appreciate all of the comments and feedback on it! For an unscripted video, I think I did pretty well documenting the whole process, I've come a way since rambling about that Sunsoft Wide Boy screen magnifier. (Maybe I should re-do that video or something for the Plus channel lmao) And of course, I hope to cover more Rhythm Heaven topics on the channel! ...eventually. It might be a little while.

Plus channel videos

This month on the Plus channel, I looked at the Wii U Fit Meter! It is an cool little gadget that I don't mind just carrying around on the side, and I am still actually carrying it on my bag right now when I head off to work. Perhaps I'll find the other Nintendo pedometers eventually to do a comparison or something, but we'll see about that!

Next up, I visited a private retro museum showcase in Hong Kong! It was a fun and eye-opening experience, it's always cool to broaden your horizons and meet fellow enthusiasts in the local space, and I'd very much want to thank Eric for hosting the whole thing. I can tell I'll be back there multiple times already, and funny thing, I DID recently go there again this week to participate in a joint GameCube modding session! I got a GameCube modded with Picoboot for my troubles, which I may eventually showcase on the Plus channel as well!

One of the upcoming topics I want to do is the Nintendo Power SF Memory Casette for the Super Famicom, as I recently picked up a complete in box copy of one! For those who don't know, it's basically an official re-writeable SNES/SFC flashcart. I might be eyeing an upgraded cart reader this month to see if I can find a way to rewrite it myself, but I'm also not opposed to just doing a quickie Plus channel video to showcase what's already on it in the first place, so look forward to that!

And with that, I'll get back to work! Actually as I write this, the Nintendo Direct for the Mario movie will drop tomorrow. There will absolutely be a reaction video recorded, I'm just not sure if I have the mental energy to livestream it at 4am in the morning. The world will never be the same after that so see you on the other side. Enjoy the last 16-ish hours of not definitively knowing what Chris Pratt as Mario would sound like.
