Planning a refresh on Patreon tiers! (Patreon)

Heyo! Just wanted to share a quick update. For a while, I have been meaning to do a full refresh of my Patreon page, complete with a new Patreon-specific YouTube trailer and all that (it's currently still just the channel trailer but I'd love to have a Patreon-specific thing for it). Alongside this, I'd like to plan some small changes to the current Patreon offerings, as the current structure hasn't really seen major changes since I launched it in like 2018!

Just for the record, all of this is still just planned for the future, and will not be actively worked on until the next video has gone up at the earliest. I just want to share my plans with you guys early as you might want to know about some of the changes, So feel free to let me know if you have any thoughts and suggestions in the comments!

The main idea behind the update is to better communicate the perks of each tier, while also ensuring it can be a solid foundation for growth in the future. With that in mind, I will still retain two pledge tiers in the future:

$1: The "No Way, More Videos"* tier (previously the "Early Bird")

The $1 tier will still include all of the same perks, including:

The exclusive lineup of Plus channel videos! I am keeping my word that these will be available to all patrons no matter their pledge amount.

Early access to videos, invite to my Discord server, monthly reports, your name in the endslate etc.

Here's the important bit: I am planning to replace the $2 'Sneak Peeker' tier with a new $5 one! I figure that having a $1 and $5 tier probably makes the most sense for two different tiers of Patreon subs. Now before you freak the heck out, any of you who are currently in the $2 tier will NOT be affected by this change. After the refresh, the $2 tier will become a legacy tier. You'll be able to remain pledged to it and still receive the benefits of the new $5 tier, it'll just no longer be available for future new patrons. I will not be closing off the $2 tier until after the refresh is finalized as well, so there's still plenty of time if you wish to upgrade your pledge. But now you might want to hear about what's in the new tier, so...

$5: The "Discord Expansion Pack"* tier (previously the "Sneak Peeker")

Currently, this tier will basically include what was previously in the $2 tier, but with a few more things! For those of you who are already in the $2 tier, you don't have to upgrade! You'll still get these perks below as long as you've pledged.

The previous description for the tier is a little outdated, so here's a better idea of what you'll be getting:

Sneak peeks at works-in-progress both in and out of Discord! This includes rough cuts of videos or more regular updates on video progress and/or recent finds. You can find new WIP content in the #behind-the-scenes channel in my server. (Psst speaking of which, there's a quick preview of my next video in that channel right now)

Access to the Chill Lounge in my Discord server! I may not be a regular streamer on Twitch or anything, but this place is where I will occasionally be doing casual streams of games, or potentially even stuff related to upcoming videos. This doesn't mean I'll stop streaming in public areas of my server, but for the times when I'm just casually working my way through a game and just want to stream it on the side for anyone watching, I'll probably be using the Chill Lounge. Some of my personal friends and mutuals will also be allowed to join in too, since I can't get super talkative and face public engagement all the time lol

I would like to offer even more additional things to this tier in the future! Possible ideas I have right now include more behind-the-scenes content like outtakes, occasional free art doodle requests or exclusive giveaways. I repeat, possible ideas. Let me know what you'd like to see!

I don't plan on taking anything that's being offered in the $1 tier currently and moving to the higher tier. (With the one potential exception being the endslate shoutout, but that's only in the unlikely case that it stops fitting all of the current names...), so I'd like to make clear that none of your current pledges will be affected. However, I'd still like to hear your thoughts on if this would be a better structure for my Patreon going forward!

Right now I'm working a regular job and YouTube is a side hobby for me. Someday, I'll probably stop working at the job I have at the moment, and when that time comes, I honestly really want to give doing YouTube regularly a chance. Perhaps not as a full-time job, but maybe at least as my "main" gig while doing side/freelance work on the side. That is my eventual dream and I'd like to thank each of you for helping me inch just a little closer to it, even I may still be far away. And thank you for your thoughts in advance!
