Time for the monthly report! As April ends a bunch of distractions are popping up: first off I'm beginning a major editing project over at my day-job, then Nintendo decides to release the new Xenoblade 3 campaign early (which I took 4 days to finish), and now Tears of the Kingdom is looming over the horizon. AND I'm writing this while recovering from a sore throat (hence why there wasn't a new Plus channel video at the end of April oops)

While I'm sure a lot of us will be Zelda-ing the next week, I'll try my best to not have it delay the upcoming planned videos too much. The current plan has not changed, but two new topics have been inserted into the schedule since the last report! This includes...

IMPROVING the N64 NSO Controller on the N64 | Things of Interest

...this follow-up of sorts to a video of mine! I preordered the BlueRetro N64 wireless adapter back in January with the idea to make a quick addendum comparison with the IntecGaming adapter once it was delivered. Once it did, I basically took one day to write and record the script, then one more to edit it, which is probably the second-fastest video turnaround time in the channel's history! (second only to this video which I'm pretty sure was made in one day)

But overall, I am still very satisfied with the BlueRetro adapter! If you (by miraculous luck) have an NSO N64 controller, I would daresay it's a no-brainer to find for those who want to use it on real N64 hardware, it's that perfect. And no, I'm not being sponsored to say this lol

The next spontaneous video idea that inserted itself right into my plans is...

The Qbby amiibo

...yes, it's finally here, there's going to be a video about it.

Some patrons that have been around for a while might recall that back in 2019, I attempted to purchase a BOXBOY physical set that was being offered on Yahoo Japan, while asking for extra donations via Ko-fi to help afford the price. While obviously situations were different back then, with me still being university and my Patreon not being as large as it is now, looking back I'm not sure if I would pull something similar again, since it still seemed to come off weird to me even though I did stress what these donations would be for and how people would be credited for chipping in. In the end, the listing was cancelled by the seller and I refunded all donations.

But that was in the past! Now 4 years later with a day job, I can properly make reckless financial decisions on my own. So here we are!

This video I'm working on won't be a deep dive or retrospective on the entire BOXBOY series. While I'll obviously be touching on the subject a bit, the video will mainly be a piece meant to add a bit more context to the Qbby amiibo asides from the fact that it's one of the most expensive amiibo, noting its origins and actual functionality in the scope of a regular Things of Interest video, and perhaps serve as an awareness piece so that it may hopefully see a reprint in the future!

This video is currently in the editing stage, and I aim to have a preview available for Expansion Pack patrons in the coming days!

Aside from these two extra videos, the current video plan has remained unchanged, which means the two upcoming videos after this are still the FlashBoy Plus and GBA TV Tuner videos!

Plus videos

Over on the Plus channel, I played Guitar Hero: On Tour for the DS! Hilarity ensues.

As for what's coming up next on the Plus channel, I'd like to also share this recent pickup I have...

Those two on the left are iQue DS games, and are a mildly interesting breed indeed! Aside from obviously being Chinese translations of DS games, they're also known for imposing region locks on the DS Lite of all systems! I'll talk about more differences and interesting observations once I get to the actual video about them though.

(The one on the very right is Jushiden: Ultimate Beast Battlers by Konami, which I got as part of the lot. It requires a card scanner accessory to even function though, which I don't have and am not planning on finding at the moment. So...uh...who knows maybe someday???)

That's it for this month's report! By the way, congratulations to the Mario movie for making one marbillion dollars the Mario sweep is real babyyyyyyyyyy
