Dragon Ball Z was the ultimate anime for me as a kid! And the Saiyan saga was my first introduction to what would become a life long obsession! I adore this story and I wanted to pour my heart into a passion project like this for so long! I hope you have fun watching this love letter to the adventures of Goku, Gohan, Krillin and Piccolo as they try to defeat the evil Nappa and the heinous Vegeta!

amazing, ive been waiting for this since the day i first came upon ur videos

I grew up knowing what DragonBall was but never experienced it until last year and let me tell you, it was an awesome journey. OG DragonBall is just such a nice, neat, tied up in a bow package and Z just puts that package into an even bigger package full of goodies. I love the series now and think it gets maybe too much hate. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the ending of Z and the saga as a whole.

Been waiting for this for a long time, Mark! Can't wait to jump in! Cheers!

I have been waiting for this series since the Dragon Ball review, and I can tell it's going to be even better than I imagined. The passion and effort you've put into these videos is clear, and I'm so damn ready for more. <3

I feel like Mark just expresses my love and excitement for Dragon Ball so perfectly. It's so cool and grandiose and just.. iconic. Truly such a defining show for my and millions of others childhoods.

It's a cold winter sunday morning and you drop this banger. I've got the fire lit and I'm ready.

The talk of rubble really makes me think about how so many modern action scenes in anime have rubble just turn into clean squares which always feels so unrealistic. Seeing this demonstrated was a nice demonstration of how fight animation has changed

This is so good! I really loved the insight into the details behind the people/animators that made it all possible. Can I ask what anime version you used for the video? Or was it a mix based on what looked best?

Sure! Slightly filtered level sets footage for all the Z stuff, raw level sets for Production, AB Groupe for DB flashbacks

Dragonball was my first anime and then my first manga. I’m sad to say that as I found more series since then, I fell into the trap of believing that while DB was iconic, it wasn’t the same level of quality as more “better” series like FMA, One Piece, Death Note, AOT, etc. It was the Marvel popcorn movie compared to the artistic Oscar winners. I’m happy to say that your review of DB caused me to revisit my first favorite series and realize just how great quality it actually is. Thrilled to see the continuation with Z - easily my most anticipated of your series. Thank you, Mark. Also, my god did I get chills at that Majin Vegeta teaser.

love the video mate! i love how you show snippets of how you will be further explaining things in future arcs. The production value on these videos is amazing. I look forward to watching the frieza arc video and the ones that will come out through the coming weeks. Keep up the amazing work! <3

I think this video is your masterpiece. I love all your work, but much like Hirohito Araki I see how you get better with each new series you approach. And this DragonBall Z series is presented with such deft detail and finesse that I felt I knew the series even thought when I first watched it I had yet to watch Z at all. I’ve rectified that now due to the excitement you created with your vids and I’m so glad I did. When you announce “Jaharobe again!” I don’t think I could have enjoyed an analysis video more. Bravo. Thank you for this. We all see the passion you have for this series. It’s the type of love I hope to have for each new anime/manga I get into.
