I do too, but a Ghost/Fire special attacker doesn't work well on a team that already has a Fire Type and three other special attackers.

RIP Bannette and Gourgeist Stans I’m happy that 4 of my Top 5 are in the top 5 so I’ll almost certainlty get one of the mons I wanted (Aegislash, Froslass, Dragapult, Trevenant). I like Hisuian Zoroark, but I don’t think it’s very plausible for Sam to catch it.

I don’t know why but I also have a weird bias against having normal types on my team in Pokémon so I can’t in good conscience vote for Zorua

Voted Poltchageist because it's easy to fit into Johto, fills slots on the team that aren't occupied (healer, bulky special sweeper, stall), matches Sam's fighting style (status), and finally because it's hella cute. Also voted Honedge because Dragapult is overrated and redundant on this team (speedy specials via Gengar and potentially Hisuian Typhlosion in this universe).

I wish I could vote for more. The only one I really don’t want is zorua, and only because it’s super easy to find multiple fanfics with it. We’ll probably have to wait quite a while for any of the top three leaders, which suits me fine. Save them for future region hopping.

Ok made a royal road account. Voted for golurk cause he is my favorite but he would be in a weird spot fighting for space with primeape but he can fly so that is interesting. Greavard cause a defensive wall is a missing spot plus doggo. Finally sinistcha because it would be interesting to have a healer on a team.

Looks like Zorua is starting to get a lead. I love Hisuian Zoroark's backstory, aesthetic, and typing so I'm happy about that. Especially since having a ghost/normal type is cool since he has a Normal Type specialist Rival in Redi. Plus Bitter Malice is insane for Sam's fighting style.

I wiould say it would be a more fun choice to give the zorua to redi tho im not sure if how she currently battles(make things go boom with strong hits) would play well with its fighting style. Tho the lore of how they come into being maches well with how redi/her famaly likes to rehabilitate mistreted pokemon (thinking of the kanguskhan and porygon here)

Narratively, Hisuian zorua makes sense. It could help give a hint to getting hisuian typhlosian, as well as being a type bridge between redi and Sam. As for Basculegion, it would make sense for Sam to find another hidden evolution, he’s got 2 potential ones already. And for Driffloon, well it’s just my favorite Ghost type.
