11. Auction Conclusion.

│3rd Person POV │

[Douluo Continent, Heaven Dou Empire, Heaven Dou City, Heaven Dou Auction House...]

Immediately after Elder Xuan gave the go-ahead, multiple people began bidding one after another.

“350,000 Gold Soul Coins!  …400,000! …500,000! …750,000!!”

The price soared at an astonishing pace as most of the influential figures in the hall fought to claim the Nether Wolf Soul Bone. The intensity of the bidding war spread through the audience like wildfire, each price increase was met with sharp gasps and murmurs from the rest of the audience.

Dugu Bo, however, remained relatively unfazed. He watched the spectacle with an indifferent gaze, his fingers lightly tapping the armrest of his chair. Though the Soul Bone was indeed valuable, it was of no relevance to him. His purpose for attending this auction had yet to come.

Additionally, he had the feeling that once Dugu Chen grew stronger, he would be able to use his Martial Spirit’s unique ability to find Soul Beasts more likely to drop Soul Bones whenever necessary.

“3,500,000 Gold Soul Coins!!!”

Elder Xuan read out the latest bid, his voice echoing across the hall. A brief silence followed as many bidders hesitated—this was an exorbitant sum, even for a Soul Bone of Ten-Thousand-Year level. The expressions of some lower-ranked guests changed, realizing they could no longer afford to compete.

The tension in the air was palpable. Several representatives of powerful factions exchanged glances, silently weighing whether it was worth increasing their bids any further.

Finally, just as Elder Xuan was about to begin the countdown, a new bid rang out.

“4,000,000! 4,000,000 Gold Soul Coins!!”

At his call, Ning Fengzi shifted his gaze from the Soul Bone, his sharp eyes locking onto Yue Guan. Apart from their Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, only the Martial Soul Hall could afford to spend such an astronomical sum at this stage without worrying about securing the final and most important item of the night.

A brief silence followed, but Ning Fengzi wasn’t one to back down so easily. With a calm on his face, he pressed the button representing 1,000,000 Gold Soul Coins five times.

“5,000,000 Gold Soul Coins!!!”

Elder Xuan read the bid aloud, drawing gasps from many. The sheer amount stunned many of the guests; this was a sum that only the wealthiest and most powerful factions could afford to bid without hesitation.

After calling out the bid, Elder Xuan’s eyes flickered toward Chrysanthemum Douluo, curiosity flashing in his eyes. Would the representative of the Martial Soul Hall continue?

For a moment, Yue Guan remained still, his face unreadable. Then, with a small smile, he elegantly placed the next bid.

“6,000,000 Gold Soul Coins!!!!”

A heavy silence fell upon the hall.

Even Ning Fengzi, who had been calmly matching bids so far, frowned slightly. Although the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan was wealthy beyond measure, there was no need to go above and beyond in order to secure this Soul Bone.

Besides, he had already come to the conclusion that Yue Guan wouldn’t back down as this Soul Bone was compatible with his usual partner, Gui Mei.

Seeing that no further bids came, Elder Xuan raised his hand.

“6,000,000 Gold Soul Coins, going once… going twice… Sold! This Nether Wolf Right Leg Bone belongs to Red Guest Number 001!”

Polite applause followed, though most of the guests had already turned their attention forward, their anticipation growing.

With the penultimate item now sold, it was finally time for the most awaited treasure of the night.

Elder Xuan straightened, his voice carrying a hint of excitement.

“And now, we present the final item of this Grand Annual Auction!”

As he spoke, the atmosphere in the hall became electric. Dugu Bo leaned back slightly, a subtle knowing smirk playing on his lips.

At last, the moment had arrived.

With a subtle motion of his hand, Elder Xuan gestured toward the side of the stage.

At once, two attendants stepped forward, pushing a cart draped in an exquisite golden cloth. Their slow, deliberate movements only heightened the mystery.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the final item of this year's Grand Annual Auction is something truly unprecedented—a treasure so rare that it could change the fate of any organisation that acquires it.”

A deep hush fell over the room. Every pair of eyes was glued to the veiled cart.

For a brief moment, silence reigned. Then, a wave of disappointment swept through the hall, swiftly followed by murmurs of dissatisfaction. Some guests frowned, while others outright scowled, feeling as though they had been deceived.

Just as the tension in the room threatened to boil over, Elder Xuan raised a hand and spoke in a calm, reassuring tone.

“Now, now. There’s no need for disappointment.” He gestured toward the crystalline case. “This piece of paper is merely symbolic—a representation of the true item up for auction.”

He let his words linger for a moment, allowing curiosity to take hold before continuing.

“The actual item is something far more valuable. It is a piece of information—knowledge that has the potential to change the very foundation of Soul Master cultivation.”

A ripple of intrigue spread through the hall as the guests exchanged glances.

“What kind of information, you ask?” Elder Xuan’s smile widened. “It is a method—a method capable of strengthening the body of anyone, enhancing their muscles and bones, and making their meridians more durable. This is not some exclusive method for a chosen few. It is universally applicable, one that could grant any sect, clan, or empire an undeniable advantage in raising powerful Soul Masters.”

The murmurs grew louder, this time filled with genuine interest rather than irritation. Elder Xuan’s words had successfully shifted the atmosphere from frustration to eager anticipation.

Furthermore, not a single person present doubted the authenticity of the method. The Heaven Dou Auction House had a reputation to uphold, and its credibility was beyond good. If this method were not genuine, it would not have been included in the grand auction, let alone as the final item.

“I don’t believe I need to explain the benefits of a Soul Master having a stronger body now, do I?” he concluded, his gaze sweeping over the audience.

The moment Elder Xuan’s words fell, a voice immediately rang out.

“500,000 Gold Soul Coins!”

“1,000,000!!”

Elder Xuan hadn’t even gotten the chance to announce the starting bid or continue his explanation before the hall erupted into a bidding frenzy.

This time, no one bothered using the buttons on their chairs. Instead, one bidder after another shouted their offers, their voices overlapping in their eagerness to claim the prize.

The rapid increase in price stunned many in the audience. Unlike physical treasures such as Soul Bones or Soul Tools, this was merely a method—intangible and easily overlooked by those who lacked foresight. Yet, the most powerful factions in the hall understood its true value.

“2,000,000!”

“3,500,000!!”

Gasps filled the auction hall as the price continued to soar. Some forces hesitated, realizing they lacked the financial strength to compete. However, those who remained in the bidding war were determined not to let this method fall into another’s hands.

The sheer amount of wealth being thrown around was beyond what most could comprehend.

Then, the inevitable happened.

“10,000,000 Gold Soul Coins!”

A momentary silence fell over the auction hall. The bid had officially crossed into the eight-digit mark, a sum that was beyond the expectations of even some of the more powerful sects and clans.

For a brief moment, no one spoke. No one moved.

Then, the bidding resumed, now with only four contenders left: the Martial Soul Hall, the Heaven Dou Empire, the Star Luo Empire, and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan.

At this point, the smaller forces could watch in stunned silence.

“16,000,000!” Ning Fengzi’s voice rang out as the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan placed their latest bid. He had a frown on his face as the price of the information had already exceeded his expectations by quite a margin.

“18,000,000!” Yue Guan’s smooth voice cut through the short silence that followed after Ning Fengzi’s bid.

Following his bid, the representatives of Heaven Dou Empire and Star Luo Empire placed their bids of 19 Million and 20 Million each.

“22,000,000!” Nig Fenzi bid again, though he had already decided that this would be his last bid. There were limits to what their Clan could afford to spend on a single auction.

Understanding that the competition had reached its final moments, Yue Guan delivered the final blow with a calm smile on his face, “25,000,000!”

Elder Xuan’s gaze swept across the remaining contenders. Ning Fengzi sat back, saying nothing. The representatives of the Heaven Dou and Star Luo Empires exchanged glances but did not raise their bids further.

Seeing no further movement, Elder Xuan raised his hand.

“25,000,000 Gold Soul Coins going once… Going twice… SOLD! The final item of tonight’s auction belongs to Red Guest Number 001!”

A wave of murmurs spread through the crowd. Some were filled with admiration, others with frustration or quiet disappointment.

Ning Fengzi let out a deep breath. Though he had anticipated this outcome, he couldn’t help but feel somewhat dissatisfied. The method was simply too valuable to let go so easily. He started brainstorming on how to acquire the method through other ways. Maybe he could find out about the seller and buy the method privately?

Meanwhile, Yue Guan sat with an expression of satisfaction. The Martial Soul Hall had won. Additionally, he was also pretty good about himself, having only bid for three items in the entire auction and succeeding in acquiring all three.

From his seat, Dugu Bo remained outwardly composed, his expression unreadable. Yet deep inside, he struggled to maintain his usual indifference. Never in his wildest dreams had he expected the information to sell for such an astronomical sum. Even as someone who had lived for decades, witnessing the sheer value placed on his knowledge left him momentarily shaken.

He had known it was valuable—but this?

This was beyond anything he had ever imagined.

Elder Xuan’s voice rang clear through the hall. “Now then, there is one last matter to address regarding the final item.”

The audience, still reeling from the staggering final bid, gradually turned their attention back to the stage. Some had resigned expressions, while others—particularly those who had competed until the end—wore unreadable looks.

Elder Xuan gestured toward an attendant, who swiftly approached Yue Guan and presented him with a jade token. “This token serves as proof of purchase. The detailed information regarding the method will be delivered to the Martial Soul Hall once the payment has been fully processed.”

Yue Guan took the token with a composed smile. “Naturally.”

With that settled, Elder Xuan gave a satisfied nod before raising his arms slightly. “Ladies and gentlemen, with this, our Grand Annual Auction comes to a successful conclusion! On behalf of the Heaven Dou Auction House, I extend my gratitude to all our esteemed guests for your presence here today.”

A round of polite applause followed. While some clapped simply out of courtesy, others still seemed distracted, their minds no doubt occupied with thoughts of the auction’s final moments.

With the event officially concluded, attendants began guiding guests toward the exit, while representatives of the major factions prepared to settle their transactions. Amidst the movement, Dugu Bo remained seated for a moment longer, his thoughts lingering on the astounding outcome of his sale.

"Twenty-five million Gold Soul Coins…"

Even for someone like him, it was an absurd sum. He had expected it to be valuable, but this level of wealth exceeded his wildest estimations.

Suppressing his happiness, Dugu Bo finally rose from his seat. It was time to collect the earnings.

While you removed mention of his douluo status from the last chapter, there is one in this chapter that slipped through. It's a couple paragraphs past the 5000000 bid for the soul bone.
