12. An eventful Awakening Ceremony.

[In the last three months, the rewards I got from the Diary have been disappointing. Except for the reward I gained after writing in the Diary for ten consecutive days and the reward I gained on the 37th day, on all other days, I only received a pitiful amount of Soul Power increase and some Gold Soul Coins.

[The former reward was a Vial of Holy Antidote. It’s a useful item, I suppose, being able to cure any diseases and ailments below the Legendary Rank with the Vial restocking after 7 days. However, I don’t know what level ‘Legendary Rank’ signifies. Based on my understanding that anything marked as Legendary will not be too low level, I can only guess that its effects are good, but not how good exactly.

[Knowing that the Vial restocks after 7 days, I’ve taken to emptying its contents every time it refills. I’ve got quite a stock of Holy Antidote in my possession now. I did some experiments using a small portion of my stock whenever I got the chance to do so, and it worked every single time. I just hope— Nope! Not gonna raise a flag.

[Moving on, the other special reward is not that good. I mean, how useful is a Crate full of 64 sticks of dynamite that restocks every 24 hours? The explosive power of these dynamites is not greater than even the Second Soul Skills of Power Attack-Type Soul Masters.

[Not to mention there are things like Fixed Soul Cannon Shells that are way better than dynamite sticks. I know that it was difficult to produce even the lowest-tier Fixed Soul Cannon Shells, but they were still miles better than dynamite sticks in my opinion.

[Besides, I don’t know how a dynamite stick is made, what chemical substance it uses, and how I can use that substance to create better explosives. Maybe I will find someone to experiment on the stuff in the future. For now, I mostly ignore the Crate’s existence, only rarely emptying its contents to be refilled the next day if my muse strikes.

[I can’t exactly do that every day, as I don’t have an Inventory with infinite storage space. My Spatial Soul Tools would be filled with useless, in my opinion, sticks if I empty the Crate to be refilled the next day.

[Anyway. In just a few more days, it will be a hundred consecutive days of writing in the Diary. I hope I will get something interesting this time.

Right now, though, I am going to use the Diary System’s Video Recording function to record the ongoing Martial Soul Awakening Ceremony. I wish I knew that there was a chance to earn rewards by using this function during important events. In that case, I would’ve recorded myself getting my First Soul Ring then.]

As Ye Chen finished writing in his Diary, he finally began paying attention to his surroundings.

As Ning Tian was called forward by Nie Yan, an elderly Soul Master responsible for this Martial Soul Awakening Ceremony, she also finished reading the latest Diary Entry made by Ye Chen.

While walking towards the awakening formation, she lamented that she couldn’t watch Ye Chen recording the video live. Maybe she would’ve been the one to get the lucky reward.

Seeing this, Elder Nie Yan said, "Congratulations, You Miss, for awakening the legacy Martial Soul of the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Clan.”

Ning Tian thanked the elder before seriously listening to his explanation on how to retract her Martial Soul. After she withdrew her Martial Soul back into her body, she walked out of the formation and approached the blue crystal ball brought out by the elder.

Ning Tian quickly placed her hand on the Soul Power Testing Crystal, and it immediately began to glow brilliantly.

“Innate Full Soul Power!!” The elderly Soul Master cried out in shock.

Not only him, but everyone else was also quite shocked after seeing the Soul Power Testing Crystal shining with full brilliance.

After all, nobody with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda had Innate Full Soul Power before today. Even Ning Rongrong, the one who became a God ten thousand years ago, only had Rank 9 Innate Soul Power.

Because of Ye Chen’s first Diary Entry, she knew that her Innate Soul Power would be high, but even she didn’t expect to have Innate Full Soul Power.

It took a few minutes for things to calm before the Awakening Ceremony continued.

Ning Tian was the first one to have her Martial Soul awakened. After her, twenty-seven other children were also participating in this Awakening Ceremony.

One by one, the children awakened their Martial Souls. Unfortunately, none of them had Innate Soul Power higher than Rank 5. Additionally, only seven out of the twenty-three children who awakened their Martial Souls had Soul Power. The other children had useless Martial Souls, unable to cultivate and become a Soul Master.

“Wu Feng!”

Ning Tian immediately perked up upon hearing Elder Nie Yan call that name. From the remaining four children, a girl with red hair and red eyes stepped forward next.

As Wu Feng stood inside the formation, Elder Nie Yan channeled his Soul Power into the six awakening stones, activating the formation. Following his instructions, the red-haired girl closed her eyes and calmed her mind.

The next moment, a flaming aura erupted from her body while a faint projection of a red dragon appeared behind her.

“A fire elemental Red Dragon Martial Soul!” The elderly Soul Master exclaimed. This Martial Soul was a sub-dragon type Beast Martial Soul, a high-tier Martial Soul.

Meanwhile, Elder Nie Yan urged the red-haired girl to test her Innate Soul Power.

The next moment, the crystal ball started glowing brightly, though its brilliance was slightly lower than that of Ning Tian’s.

“Innate Soul Power Rank 9!”

Sect Master Ning Hao couldn’t be any happier at this moment. He immediately called Wu Feng to stand beside Ning Tian. He warmly praised her talent and Martial Soul, his tone filled with immense satisfaction. The surrounding sect members once again offered their congratulations, their voices echoing through the hall as they lauded the Sect’s incredible luck—three remarkable geniuses had appeared in the same generation, a blessing that would undoubtedly strengthen the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s future.

Meanwhile, as Wu Feng stood beside Ning Tian, both of them suddenly received a mental notification from the Diary System, asking whether they wished to add each other as friends.

At the same time, the Diary System relayed additional information directly into their minds, explaining the benefits of adding another Diary Copy Holder as a friend—such as being able to sense each other’s location and health, or communicate telepathically through the System without anyone else knowing, regardless of distance.

They looked at each other for a moment before nodding in unison. In their mind, they both gave the same response to the Diary System, “Yes.”

Immediately after that, the Diary System issued another notification, this time to all the Diary Copy Holders.

Then, there was a few seconds of silence before the Diary Copy System appeared once again.

A/N: Sorry for being two days late. I just got a little lazy, I guess.

Anyway, in this chapter, I rolled a dice to see how many girls and who would get the reward. As you can see, Ju Zi won.

At first, I was going to use Chaos Gacha to decide what reward Ju Zi would get. But then, I was talking with my friends on Discord about DxD, and Ryuuteimaru, Issei's Familiar, came up.As I got to know more about what Ryuuteimaru was, I got the idea of Ju Zi getting one of his kind as a Familiar. I now have some, hopefully, good plans for her in the future.

Our War Empress isn't going to be a simple commander in this fic.
