In a small pavilion away from the fanfare and the clashing men, Margaery found Lady Olenna Tyrell sitting down, nibbling on a dish of figs alongside Margaery’s mother, Alerie, and brother, Willas. Loras and Garlan were both participating in the tourney, and Mace wouldn’t dare miss a match when his sons were fighting.

“Grandmother,” Margaery said with a slight curtsy.

“Ah, Margaery, sit, sit,” Olenna waved her down. “We were just speaking about your betrothed. Willas here says that the ironborn were up to their usual tricks.”

Margaery was surprised to hear that. “You watched the match?”

“Of course,” Willas said with a soft smile. “After Harry protected us in the Kingswood, I was eager to see him fighting again. And I wasn’t the only one. Oberyn Martell was quite keen on seeing what he could do as well. He was quite outraged when that man tried to stab Harry in the back.”

“Must you still keep in contact with that man after he crippled you,” Alerie said to Willas sadly.

“It was an accident, mother,” Willas reminded her gently. “And Oberyn has become a good friend of mine. But more importantly, he told me that the king is so outraged that he’s in half a mind to banish all of the ironborn visitors from the city.”

Olenna guffawed. “Seems to me like he’s looking for an excuse to goad them into starting another rebellion. How can an entire people be blamed for the actions of one man?”

A massive clanging sound suddenly filled the tent before the roar of the crowds joined it. Feet scurried along outside of the tent, heading in the direction of the noise with excitement in every step.

“Please, grandmother, you know what the ironborn are like,” Margaery said. “How long have they raided the shores of the Reach? Stealing gold and women, killing men and boys. And look at what they did to Harry when he was just a boy. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a planned attack on his life. It is quite the coincidence that he was the only one attacked like this.”

“I will admit that it is quite a peculiar situation,” Willas added. “The one who scarred him, Euron, still hasn’t been heard from in Westeros since, but he had many men loyal enough to him to leave their homes behind. Mayhaps some chose to remain in the Iron Islands but still support his will.”

“All of these maybes and guesses,” Olenna scoffed. “What matters is what’s been done and how it will be dealt with going forward. The king will do as he likes, and I’m sure that there’ll be many more watchful eyes over Harry now.”

“Perhaps we could add some of our own,” Margaery suggested hopefully.

“Do you really think that Lord Stannis would allow our knights to work alongside his?” Olenna raised an eyebrow at her.

No, Margaery wanted to answer, but she thought better of it. There was always a way to make things work.

“If we could convince him of the necessity of it, then yes,” Margaery answered. “Or we could simply make it a part of our deal.”

“What deal?” Alerie asked, sitting up. “Are you talking about the terms of your betrothal?”

“No,” Margaery shook her head. Glancing back at the tent flap, she faintly saw the outline of two of her family’s guards standing out front. Shifting shadows moved around the exterior of the rest of the tent as servants, guests, and workers moved on by. As much as Margaery would like to believe otherwise, she knew that it was likely that at least a few of those people were trying to listen in on her family’s conversations for any useful nuggets of information they could gather to deliver to their masters.

She quickly sat at the table her family was at and leaned in close.

“Lord Stannis asked me to organise a meeting with our family,” Margaery whispered to them. “He fears that the recent events in King’s Landing have a more sinister hand behind it, and he’s looking to resolve the issue himself.”

“How noble,” Olenna said in a tone that Margaery couldn’t quite tell if it was mocking or not, but knowing her grandmother, it was probably the former.

“The death of the previous hand, the attack on Stannis within his chambers, and the banditry plaguing the countryside are all of great concern to him and Harry,” Margaery continued. “And now just look at this attack on Harry. Something is afoot, and I can’t stand by and do nothing while my betrothed and his family are being targeted like this. Lord Stannis mentioned coordinating efforts to uncover the truth behind what has been going on, and I believe that we should support him in this.”

Willas leaned in, looking concerned with a frown on his face. “Does he believe that all of these events are connected?”

“He does,” Margaery confirmed. “And so does Harry.”

“And how is it exactly that they’ve drawn such a ludicrous conclusion?” Olenna asked.

“Mother,” Alerie hissed, but Olenna paid her no mind.

“I do not know all of the details myself—” Margaery began, only for Olenna to cut her off with a curt laugh.

“And yet you wish us to commit our resources to this cause?” Olenna raised an eyebrow at her. “I thought that you knew better than to rush ahead with a half-baked plan like this.”

A rush of frustration and anger rose up within Margaery. “I’m doing this because I love Harry and want to see him safe. But if that isn’t enough for you, then consider this: our houses will be joined, and if it’s true that these events are somehow connected and someone is behind it all, how long do you think it’ll be before they come after me?”

“Don’t speak of such things,” Alerie shivered.

“I will because I must,” Margaery insisted, staring down her grandmother seriously. “From what little I’ve seen, Harry’s family is far-too interconnected in all of these events for them to merely be chance. Lord Stannis is no fool, and if you truly believe him to merely be concocting a wild tale, then do as you taught me and examine what he has to gain from the situation. Because as far as I can see, he has already expended a great deal of effort into trying to uncover the culprits behind these plots, and he has little else to gain barring the safety of his family.”

“He could be attempting to weaken our house by having us waste our time,” Olenna countered.

“For what? Petty revenge over what happened during Robert’s Rebellion?” Margaery questioned sharply. “Dragonstone is not a wealthy island, and his relationships with his brothers leads to little trade being done between them. Why would he try to weaken and potentially alienate us, the second richest house in all of Westeros, just as he’s creating a deep connection with us through my marriage to Harry?”

“Why indeed,” Olenna pointed out. “These are questions that we must ask ourselves before committing to anything. We have to examine each situation from all possible angles before deciding upon a path forward.”

Margaery silently fumed at that. These were the exact words that Olenna had taught Margaery from a young age, and Margaery wholeheartedly believed in their efficacy, but in this case, when her fiancé’s life was potentially on the line, she didn’t care to doubt him or his father’s words.

“Then meet with him. Tonight,” Margaery insisted. “Hear what Lord Stannis has to say on the matter and judge for yourself. Or would you rather sit back and wait for the worst to happen while you continue deliberating?”

“Don’t let her get under your skin,” Willas said. “You know she’s just looking out for the best interests of our family.”

“And so am I,” Margaery snapped. “House Tyrell will always be my family, but I will soon be Harry Baratheon’s wife and the Lady of Dragonstone as well. I should scarcely think that ignoring my husband-to-be and father-in-law’s requests would be befitting of a proper lady.”

Olenna leaned back in her chair with a slight smile as she examined Margaery. It looked like approval. “Tell me how House Tyrell came to be in charge of the Reach and the owners of Highgarden,” she prompted Margaery.

It seemed a tedious time for a history lesson, but Margaery chose to entertain her grandmother’s request rather than challenge her further.

“House Gardener’s line ended at the Field of Fire during Aegon Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros,” Margaery said, having heard the story countless times in her youth. “And it was Harlan Tyrell, the high steward of the Reach, who surrendered Highgarden to Aegon. In return, Aegon gave Highgarden over to Harlan as well as dominion of the Reach.”

“Precisely,” Olenna smiled. “Through dutiful patience and waiting for the right moment did House Tyrell succeed in the end.”

“And this is not the right time to be helping out Harry and Stannis?”

“I do not know if it is or it is not,” Olenna corrected her. “But what I do know is that your passion for the matter leaves me concerned. Is it merely love that has you so concerned?”

Margaery hesitated before answering. Answering quickly with what her first instinct was would get her nowhere. Her grandmother expected a complete and well-thought answer.

In truth, Margaery did not know if these events were truly connected, but something within her said that they were. Maybe those were her feelings for Harry clouding her judgement, but something felt wrong about what had happened over these past few weeks. The countless attacks on major families travelling to King’s Landing coupled with the fact that these bandits could get so close to the city itself without being detected suggested that something far more insidious was going on. And the fact that Harry and his father seemed to be at the centre of it all only made a conspiracy seem so much more likely.

“Both my heart and my mind are telling me that there is more to this situation than meets the eye,” Margaery began, careful of her words. “Harry and Stannis especially do not strike me as the type of men to jump to rash conclusions without there being some truth to them. At the very least, I believe that we would be utterly foolish to not meet with Lord Stannis tonight to hear him out.”

“Fine,” Olenna said simply.

Margaery blinked in surprise.

“Quit staring at me, girl,” Olenna waved her off. “You’ve made your points. I’ll do as you ask and meet with him.”

“Does that mean that you believe there could be some truth to their words?” Margaery asked.

“It means that I’ll meet with him,” Olenna said. “Do not get ahead of yourself. Any dealings between two of the greatest houses in Westeros must be handled with a great degree of care and caution. I’ll see to it that Mace, Willas, and myself will meet with him tonight.”

“Why yes, grandmother, I’d love to attend the meeting,” Willas joked.

“Your father tries to be cute, but he comes off more as a buffoon,” Olenna chastised him. “Don’t be cute.”

“Then I’ll go tell him that you will all meet with him in his chambers in the castle tonight?” Margaery said hopefully.

“Ah yes, in the chambers he was nearly killed in,” Olenna chuckled. “Quite the inauspicious place for a meeting, but what else could you expect from such a grim man.”

“Please let Lord Stannis know that we’re eagerly awaiting the meeting,” Willas said more diplomatically.

Margaery chose to take her victory and leave before anything could change it. As she left the tent, she casually scanned the area and spotted two servants that she’d seen coming in earlier. They were both independently working, but they were still just carrying around crates from carts to the storage tent behind the Tyrell’s. Were they listeners for someone else? Probably. With all of the noise of the crowd and the hushed tones she and her family had spoken in, all she could hope for was that they hadn’t overheard much of worth.

Turning her back on them, Margaery headed off towards the small tent that Harry had to rest in between matches. As pleased as she was that her grandmother had agreed to meet with Stannis, she was still frustrated at how difficult it’d been to convince her. She rarely pushed back so hard against internal family matters. Was it so hard for her to believe that Margaery was a part of Harry’s family now? Or was that the exact issue? Was her closeness to the Baratheons somehow marring her status as a member of the Tyrells?

She hoped not. Highgarden would forever be her true home, and she had the utmost love for her family there. She was sure that she’d grow to love the people at Dragonstone all the same, but Highgarden was simply special.

Besides, there was no way that her family’s ambitions and goals would ever go against House Baratheon’s.

Margaery said her polite hellos to several lords and ladies that she passed by. Since arriving at King’s Landing, she’d been trying her hardest to ingratiate herself to the various other noble families here. When she became the Lady of Dragonstone, it would be of great importance that she maintained positive relations with other noble houses in order to ensure the continued prosperity of Dragonstone. She’d made it a point to specifically focus on the families from the Crownlands who she was bound to have the closest relationship with. They were all eager to meet with her, especially with the prospect of increasing trade with the Reach.

The harbours in Oldtown were known throughout the world for how much they brought in and exported. Many trading ships coming from Lys, Tyrosh, Myr, Volantis, and Slaver’s Bay chose to go south of the Stepstones and visit Sunspear, Oldtown, and Lannisport. Oldtown was a favourite place for them to resupply on their journeys back home as the wine from the Arbor and the splendour of the fruits and grain from the rest of the Reach made it a wonderful treat for the sailors and their customers back home alike.

It wouldn’t be too difficult to convince a few of those ships to make the occasional trip up towards Dragonstone, especially if it was sure to guarantee the favour of House Tyrell in the Reach. And having those ships bringing in new goods would quickly curry favour with the other houses in the Crownlands.

This was what she’d been raised to do, and Margaery excelled at it. She already had several of the ladies of the Crownlands eating out of the palm of her hand, eagerly telling her about the grand balls they’ll put on after Margaery’s wedding to Harry in honour of their marriage and how much they’d love for her to do them the honour of attending.

Dragonstone would become grander than it currently was under her watch. That was a promise that Margaery made to herself not only to help maintain her current quality of life but also to help her husband-to-be’s lands prosper.

With a pleased smile gracing her lips, Margaery spun into Harry’s tent and found him sitting alone on his bed. There was quite a bit of noise around from all of the other men resting in their tents, but this felt like a reprieve from it all. His armour was waiting for him on a table, leaving him mostly bare. He’d removed his top and was brushing some type of salve over the bruises he’d sustained from his battle earlier this morning.

Just seeing him made her heart flutter.

“My love,” Margaery smiled in greeting.

“Oh, Margaery,” Harry’s head snapped up. Evidently, he’d been lost in his thoughts. “Is everything alright?”

“Of course,” she said as she sat down delicately at his side. Wordlessly, she took the jar of salve from his hands and started applying it for him. She loved the feeling of his strong muscles underneath her delicate hands. “I just came to see you before your next battle.”

Harry made a gruff sound of acknowledgement and twisted his body slightly so that she’d have an easier time reaching his back. “I’m looking forward to it.”

“Are you?” She questioned him gently. “You seemed distracted when I came in.”

“Yes, well,” Harry paused in thought for several seconds before continuing. “It’ll be a difficult fight. My uncle will be there, as will Ser Barristan and countless others from the Stormlands, many of whom I’ve met when they’ve visited Dragonstone. And… I suppose I’m still a little unnerved at being caught out in the battle this morning.”

“That was an unchivalrous attack,” Margaery reminded him. “After how furious the king is, I’d be surprised if anyone else tried anything like that again.”

“I should’ve seen it coming,” Harry protested. “That man had been winding me up the whole fight, and after I defeat him, I turned my back on him as though I expected him to maintain his honour.”

“That’s because you have a just and righteous heart,” Margaery said.

“But not all men do, and I must not forget that,” Harry replied.

“Perhaps this was a good reminder then,” Margaery suggested. “You came out unscathed, and you will be better prepared the next time.”

“I suppose.”

Margaery stopped applying the salve to Harry and grabbed his chin to turn his head so that he was facing her head on. “You made a mistake. It happens. You won’t let it happen again and leave me a widow, will you?”

“No, I won’t,” Harry said resolutely.

“Good,” Margaery leaned in and kissed him. Her candle burning in her core suddenly exploded upon feeling his lips against hers. “Because I would not do well as a widow.”

“No?” Harry asked as he kissed her again.

“I’d pine for you every day and night that you were gone,” Margaery told him sincerely as the heat continued to build inside of her. “I would lock myself away in my chambers at Highgarden and refuse any other matches that my family tried to arrange for me. None could ever hope to compare to the grandeur of you.”

“Now you’re trying to make me overconfident again,” Harry chuckled, peppering kisses on her neck as she leaned into his embrace.

“I’m just trying to remind you of the glorious man you are,” Margaery countered. “A man who saved my life by fighting off bandits, a man who wants to uncover the truth in a place of lies, a man who does what’s right not because it’s easy but because it’s just. You are Harry Baratheon, the man I love more than life itself. You’ll go out there and show everyone just how incredible you truly are. But first, I need you to show me.”

That certainly lit a fire in his eyes.

Margaery yelped as Harry suddenly rolled over on top of her, pinning her down on her back beneath him on his bed. His gorgeous green eyes searched hers.

“You know that I don’t have long before I need to start getting ready for the next match,” he told her.

“I don’t need long,” Margaery said as she reached down and hiked up her skirts until her underclothes showed. She pulled them aside and pressed the pads of two of her fingers to her slit to collect just enough wetness to show him how much she wanted more. She pressed her fingers to his lips and grinned as he licked them clean. “I just need you to show me the man you really are.”

With a growl, Harry practically tore off the few clothes he still had on and pressed the tip of his cock against her slick entrance. There was a chance that anyone could walk in on them at this very moment, but neither of them seemed to care. Harry pressed forward, and Margaery’s voice sang as he steadily filled her up.

Harry’s hand slapped over top of her mouth. “Quiet,” he warned her. “If anyone knew that we were fucking before we were married—”

“I’m sure that more than a few people have guessed by now,” Margaery joked, her voice muffled by his hand.

“Yes, but if it truly became common knowledge, things would become difficult for us.”

On that, Margaery could agree.

“Then keep me quiet,” she challenged him with a playful look.

It was impossible to not moan whenever Harry’s cock was inside of her. It was so wonderfully thick and hit every perfect spot inside of her that made her want to sing to the skies above, so she didn’t hold back at all. She moaned loudly against Harry’s hand as he started to fuck her, and she trusted that he would do his best to muffle her voice.

Harry looked like a man facing a difficult challenge as he adjusted his posture to keep his hand over her mouth. Each muffled moan as his cock speared into her core made him cringe, but it wasn’t before long that he forgot about the outside world and just focused on bringing them both the pleasure that they so desperately desired.

Margaery felt like she was spiralling out of control from the pleasure that Harry’s cock brought her. He was fucking her hard down into the mattress, so much so that she feared that the legs would break at a moment’s notice. His cock plunged in and out of her tight pussy, stretching her out and leaving her core weeping for more. She cried out in pleasure against his hand, even nipping at his skin, but Harry wouldn’t let the world hear her delight.

As much as she loved watching Harry’s face as he fucked her, Margaery’s eyes kept flickering over to the tent’s entrance. Shadows passed by. How many hundreds of people would go about their days, utterly unaware of the ecstasy she was receiving? She wanted to scream to let them all know.

So she did.

As she screamed, Harry’s hand clamped down harder around her mouth.

“Quiet,” he hissed at her, but she rejected his suggestion. She kept up her voice until it finally gave out and she needed to suck in a deeper breath. She was dizzy from the lust running unchecked through her body and started squeezing hard around Harry’s cock each time he filled her up.

“So good,” Margaery moaned against Harry’s hand.

“You’re such a little minx,” he growled as he rammed into her again. It still astounded her that he could somehow just barely manage to fit his entire cock inside of her pussy, but she wouldn’t complain about it. The wonderful heat of his cock stoked the fire within her core and left every inch of her flesh desperate for his touch.

Wrapping her legs around his waist, Margaery ripped the top of her dress to expose her breasts to the crisp air. She tweaked her nipples between her fingers and cried out as her body thrashed upon the bed.

As she cried out again, Harry stilled deep inside of her core and whispered into her ear. “You need to be more quiet. I don’t want my men to overhear you.”

And yet she did. She wanted them to know what a magnificent man that Harry was.

“I’ll try,” she promised him.

His hold over her mouth relaxed ever so slightly as he fucked her into the bed again. Margaery tried to hold back her breathy moans and other sounds of pleasure even though it was tremendously difficult. The feeling of his cock stirring around her insides and his strong body pinning down hers was almost too much to take.

Just as she felt like she was able to gather a hold of herself, Harry changed the game.

“Get on your hands and knees,” he ordered her.

Margaery rushed to do as he wished, whining as his cock slipped out from her pussy. She positioned herself perfectly on her hands and knees, arching her back slightly to let her ass stick out towards him invitingly. In reply, he pressed the tip of his cock back against her sopping wet pussy and pressed inside of her.

Instantly, Margaery knew that she wasn’t going to be able to hold her voice. She dropped her head straight down onto Harry’s pillow and screamed in pleasure as his cock plunged into her depths and his balls smacked off of her clit. It was intolerably good, and she knew that nothing she could do would make it easier on her.

Feeling utterly dwarfed by Harry’s powerful frame, Margaery’s entire body burned with pleasure. He took what he wanted whenever he wished, and that turned her on so badly. Her pussy was dripping around his shaft in the lewdest way possible, and she didn’t wish that it was any different. She didn’t care that servants would eventually find the signs of their coupling on this bed. All that mattered was that he kept fucking her until they were both screaming each other’s names.

Margaery’s knees began to buckle weakly as the pleasure grew to be too much. The overwhelming ecstasy of having Harry’s cock hit the perfect spot inside of her pussy again and again left her barely able to breathe. She bit the pillow hard and let her moans escape into it as her walls began to shudder around his pulsing shaft.

More, more! Margaery’s body begged for more of Harry’s nonstop assault on her pussy. Her mind felt like it was melting into a puddle of nothingness as every little pleasurable sensation threatened to overwhelm her into blissful madness.

She clawed at the bedsheets and fell forward until her breasts pressed down against the soft bedding. Her ass stung from the force of Harry’s thrusts, but that only added to the sheer pleasure of his cock making a complete mess of her.

Margaery was coming undone.

This time, her scream couldn’t completely be contained. Her voice let loose as the fire rushed through her body and left her every nerve electrified with eternal gratification. She was torn between gasping for breath and relishing in the raw desperation for more. She thrust her ass back against Harry’s hips as he groaned her name loudly, and then she felt his warm seed spilling inside of her. Her walls squeezed hard around him, helping to pump out every last drop.

Only once they were both fading did Margaery collapse entirely onto Harry’s bed. She took her time gasping for air before she turned around to find Harry’s face completely flushed and looking upon her with incredible lust.

“If I didn’t have another battle today, I’d take you back to—”

“Please don’t say anymore,” Margaery interrupted him. “Otherwise I might beg you to do exactly what’s on your mind.”

Harry chuckled. “You’re tempting me to do exactly that.”

“Don’t,” Margaery insisted. “You have much to prove in this tourney. Once it’s finished and we’re to be married, we’ll have plenty of time to satisfy each other’s desires.”

“That is true enough,” Harry reluctantly agreed.

As he cleaned up his cock, Margaery used the bedding to wipe away the cum leaking from her swollen pussy. She readjusted her underclothes back on herself and then did her best to straighten out her dress. It was only once she was finishing up that she realised that she’d torn it during their encounter.

“I might be able to help with that,” Harry said.

A look of intense focus came across his face as he stared at her. At first, Margaery nearly laughed, thinking that he was just taking the time to admire her beautiful breasts, but then he closed his eyes as a deep frown overcame him.

“Reparo,” he murmured.

Margaery gasped as she watched the fabric of her dress knit itself back together. It was so perfect that it was impossible to tell that it’d even been ripped. Even the greatest seamstresses couldn’t hope to compete with this fine work. Even once it was completed, she could scarcely believe Harry had truly managed this.

Running her fingers over the fabric, she looked up at him. “Your magic can really do this?”

“And so much more,” he grinned. “I never tried using that spell until now. I guess you’ll just have to rip more of your clothes off of your body so that I can practice.”

Margaery laughed and kissed him sweetly. “Another time,” she promised him. “For now, you need to get ready for your next match.”

She helped him with his armour. Although she’d never done it herself, she’d sat with Garlan and Lancel enough to recognise how to tie the knots and how the armour should be layered.

By the time they finished, Harry looked positively gallant in his shining mail.

Margaery had to stand up on her tippy toes to kiss him. “I know that you’ll do wonderful today. Your father and I will be watching from the stands.”

“After what you just gave me, I’ll do better than wonderful,” Harry joked.

He held her against his side. All she felt was the cold metal of his armour, but she hoped that her presence was enough to give him the courage to do as he needed. Minutes later, a poor squire came running past, calling out that it was time for the Crownlands’ knights to face off against the Stormlands’.

“Good luck,” Margaery said, giving him one last kiss.

“With your will, my lady, fortune will smile upon me.”
