Hi all!
Please see below for the responses to Q&A 2: Cyber Boogaloo. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
How many love interests will we encounter in the first release?
I’ll provide two answers here.
First is how many play a substantial role in the first episode. I would say only a handful, as the first episode is smaller in scope. The second episode is when the world opens up more. I wanted to use the first episode to tell a largely standalone story and introduce the world, some of the major players, and the general themes of the game.
Second is how many are literally seen in the first episode. The short answer is: a lot. The long answer is: in terms of characters with planned sex scenes, the first episode has (at least some) screen time for (and I could be forgetting people, this is off the top of my head):
Kriss
Lydia
Kaya
Parker
Drew
Abby
Mimi
April
Zol dov dpss ylthrl aol dvysk pu oly pthnl
Blight
Misty
Duke
Maddy
(combined question) What kind of kinks and fetishes can we expect, any outlandish/risque ones? What fetishes/kinks will be included and can we request any within an acceptable range?
Each of the women have different kinks/preferences. My goal is to have it be optional RE: how much you indulge in their specific interests. For example, Kriss is an exhibitionist and likes the idea of being caught. Willow is into… fluids. Violet is particularly dominant. Some women are more open with theirs, and some keep them buried deep down (there’s a closet submissive in there, as well as someone with major voyeuristic tendencies). Not sure what qualifies as outlandish/risque, but I’m open to suggestions/requests (within reason)!
(Combined) - What's the estimated playtime for this build and what kind of schedule and structure do you want to follow? Will each update contain a chapter of the story (barring bugfixes) and how often do you want to release a new update?
Read aloud, the script for the first episode is 1 hour long. That’s not including taking in any of the visuals. I would like each episode to be that long at the very least, and I’m hoping to maintain a consistent schedule. I’m now doing this full-time, so depending on the success of the game, I’ll be able to commit more and more time to it (wink wink).
And yes, the plan is to release a full episode each time. I write each episode as its own complete chapter, so releasing half an episode would probably feel very unfinished. If this isn’t sustainable, I’ll look into changing it.
Is the game going to be more of a linear experience or are choices important?
Early on, fairly linear. I want it to open up more as it goes, with endings varying quite a bit. Many of the early choices will largely have to do with sex scenes, slight dialogue changes, etc. I’ll also be putting in a flag to determine if you’re a foot person or not in the first episode that may pay off later l o l.
How do you achieve your signature art style? It almost looks like drawn by hand.
It is! (partially)
The game is made in 3D, and rendered almost entirely in Blender. The only parts that aren’t done in Blender are many of the textures, which are made in Substance 3D painter. Details on characters, such as their skin textures, makeup, tattoos, etc. are hand drawn there.
For those who understand Blender, the game is rendered in Eevee. I’ve experimented with different shader set-ups, but overall it’s a fairly standard NPR set-up. The textures are hand-drawn in Substance, with curvature mapping used as a reference to then essentially “sketch” over it, making the curves/details more imperfect and illustrative. The faces have even more detail. I also use Blender’s built-in compositor for some final, illustrative touches and rendering.
What about music and sound effects, are those custom or do you use some kind of library or perhaps licenced those?
I’ve been looking for a musician with little success. I do have a massive library of royalty-free sound effects/songs. My one concern is that I do not want any generative AI in the game, so I’m vetting the sounds I have/anyone I work with to make sure it is not being used.
I know that this hinges entirely on support but are you open about the inclusion of voiceovers in the future?
Yes! To be honest, if I ever manage to get VAs in the game, I’ll have truly made it as a dev lol.
How large of a file size should we expect for an initial release?
Not sure at the moment, but I’m open to releasing a compressed version if need be.
so how did you learn to draw like this
If it helps, I’m like a 4/10 artist, so you too (yes you!) can learn to do what I do!
Could you describe what the story is about as well as the planned tags (I'm sure it's information I could find quite fast but I'm lazy)
3dcg, adventure, anal sex, animated, bdsm, big ass, big tits, cheating, corruption, creampie, dystopian setting, exhibitionism, fantasy, female domination, female protagonist, footjob, group sex, handjob, harem, humor, interracial, lesbian, male domination, male protagonist, masturbation, milf, monster girl, multiple endings, multiple protagonist, oral sex, pov, romance, sci-fi, spanking, stripping, superpowers, teasing, titfuck, vaginal sex, virgin, voyeurism
The story is set in a cyberpunk-lite city, where crime is rampant. The protagonist has recently started operating as a masked vigilante (Pulse) with the help of his wealthy, tech-savvy friend (Lydia). The game explores the early days of Pulse’s vigilantism, as well as his personal life as a young adult (where he’s a big ol’ slut.)
If I had to throw some reference points at you, think Batman, Blade Runner, and Persona.
How much of the game’s story has been planned out? Are you open to making changes based on feedback?
Most of it. I’ve changed things here and there, but the story has been planned out for some time, particularly where things head with each villain arc and romance. I could tell you all about each villain, what their deal is, and how they intersect with MC’s personal life (I won’t though).
I’m always open to feedback.
Why set it in college? Every other AVN is set in college. I thought you were different.
So true, anonymous question asker (I planted this question). This is why I’ve actually REMOVED THE SCHOOL ELEMENT. Now the characters are all post-grads. This way, I can free up their schedules, explore the anxieties of the working world, and more importantly, make them older.
Who’s your favorite character?
As a player? Abby or A nameless character I have not revealed yet.
To write? Lydia is the easiest. Blight is the most fun.
Who was that in the last post? She doesn't have a character spotlight.
