Lets not forget that Luffy directly declared war against the world government in Enies Lobby by shooting down the flag

The thing the mafia looking guy (Bege Capone) experienced was actually weird Grandline New World shenanigans and not Blackbeard. Also, not sure if this has already been answered but will you be watching the One Piece spin-off, Monsters?

Luffy with the biggest and boldest of moves! Also, gotta love kid getting so wound up over it thinking that Luffy was trying to show off and was using that opportunity as a way of saying that he's the best around. The New World is absolutely no joke. All of those experiences with the rookies was them entering the New World and getting a reality check. The fact that notorious pirates are fleeing this place and calling the Grand Line a paradise should say all you need to know about the place.

Luffy going back, ringing the Ox Bell, paying tribute to Ace and Whitebeard as well as those who fell in the war was of course going to be big news. Luckily for us, it was also a good opportunity to send out a message to the rest of the crew. Genius plan from Rayleigh. Dadan killed me! 😭. Our crew managed to decipher the message rather quickly, except for Zoro. Looked like he was burning brain cells trying to figure it out 🤣

true! i think my thinking is more like, he didnt just go in and do that to make a bold statement as a pirate (as what has been assumed by the ringing of the ox bell) he did it because robin's life was in danger and they wouldnt have been there otherwise, which is what i think lines up with the ox bell ringing being "uncharacteristic" of him as they mentioned, if that makes any sense!

zoro just like me fr

I don't know why, but the anime does not give the title of the guy Sengoku is meeting with here (and never will). But he's the Commander-in-Chief of the World Government (& a former Fleet Admiral). While Sengoku was just the head of the Marines, Kong is directly below the 5 Elders and the World Government, as the middle-man that oversees all its divisions (from the Marines, to all the Cipher Pols 1-9, and all the other stuff that potentially exists).

Way back in episode 31 (after the Baratie Arc) Zoro's friend Yosaku tells Luffy that his dream of sailing the Grand Line is a foolish one, since it's a Pirate Graveyard. But Luffy interjects saying that's not what he heard & that even Zeff referred to it as "Paradise". Quite cool how Oda recontextualizes this line hundreds of episodes later ^^ PS: It was also Yosaku in that same ep that mentioned the 3 Great Powers & namedropped Jinbe (as one of the 7 Warlords) for the first time!

Love the huge One Piece lore episodes - Luffy is so ballsy going back to Marineford like that! Love to see the Supernova's antics and Buggy's great reunion with his crew of goofballs :') Now that you've started JoJos, Aokiji sharing a voice actor with Dio is so funny they're complete opposites.

Pookie the spooky dookie

I look at morality in one piece like this: Pirates= grey Navy= grey Revolutionary=good World gov= evil

I think Buggy was just being an idiot about the uncle thing.
