This was a really good finale. I love S12 sm. It always gives me mixed emotions bc I love Reid sm he is my fav character so I hate that he is in prison for like 7-8 eps. But it is an amazing storyline and his acting is always good but for me Matthew Gray Gubler carried this season. His acting was amazing like always. Loved seeing Morgan back in the final ep. I have missed him sm and loved seeing the Morgan and Penelope scenes. They were so heartwarming. I am so excited for the S13 reactions.

Yeah, forever so upset we didn't get that Morgan and Reid scene, but they felt that their goodbye scene was too perfect to do anything else. Which part of me gets, but like, that's his little brother and he just got out of prison and had the most traumatic 3 months of his life. We deserved to see some happiness for Spencer. I'm just glad they had Morgan acknowledge it and mention he was gonna go see him. Speaking of, they really just kept making it worse and worse for Spence. They really just kept saying "Nope, not traumatic enough! Add more trauma!!" and bringing Maeve into it always makes me so upset!! Cat tainting her memory in that way. Spencer finally breaking and attacking Cat though! Just, she put him through a terrible trauma, put him in survival mode for 3 months, had his mum kidnapped, then spent ages just triggering him, and then when he snaps, he's the psychopath. Agh! Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what they call reactive abuse, right? When someone abuses you to the point of you lashing out at them, and then they call you the abuser. I loved JJ and Spencer's talk after that though! Of JJ telling him she knows what he did in prison, and that anyone would've done the same, that she would've done the same. Just her telling him that it's okay that he did things in there he's not proud of. That it doesn't make him a bad person. But also just Spencer's fear that this is him now. That he is now someone capable of violence, someone who has purposefully hurt people. But really he's just traumatised. He JUST got out of prison. He's still in survival mode. He's still wearing his suit from his arraignment ffs! He hasn't had time to take a moment and let himself understand that he's free. A moment that always gets me in this episode though is when JJ says "no touching" when Cat goes to close Spencer's eyes, and Reid looking at her and then JJ not protesting again. He just spent 3 months having those words shouted at him when his family was visiting. This time he was on the other side of it, but still. I wouldn't be surprised if that's why JJ didn't protest again. (Plus the knowledge that they needed to play along with Cat in order to save Reid's mum...) But yeah, Spence's reaction to those words has always stuck with me. The chemistry between Cat and Spencer is insane! I love their dynamic. Like, I wanna get Cat as far away from our boy as possible, but their dynamic is just so interesting!! I just wanna highlight again the fact that Spencer is still in his suit from his arraignment. I feel that's an important detail. He is FRESH outta prison! (But hey, at least he's out!!) Him getting back and hugging his mum and the whole team just watching on the verge of tears always gets me! They have been working their asses off to get Spencer out of prison, and then to get Diana back. And finally, they're watching them reunite and seeing Spencer have the first moment of just true peace in months. They all love him so much! 😭 As annoying as the gun shop guy was, I have gotta appreciate how protective he was of this young lesbian couple he believed was only buying guns due to constant harassment... I do appreciate that. But it was very annoying that he refused to believe them. I loved the way they handled Lindsey in the end. Letting Cat unknowingly reveal her pregnancy to her herself and therefore sabotaging her own plan. Revealing to Lindsey that Cat cares more about her games with Reid than she ever could about her. I find Lindsey to be quite interesting tbh. She was raised by a killer. Her dad made her so ambivalent towards violence and murder, then she and her friend were abducted and her friend was killed in front of her. And I think that's when she snapped, seeing her friend killed broke her, and so she encouraged her dad to kill the guy who did it. And Spencer said that if he did kill him in front of her, her life would be all about violence, and he was right. He killed him, and then got away with it, they started fresh. But then her dad wanted normal, he didn't want the violence anymore. He introduced her to that violence, he brought her into it by killing someone in front of her, and then wanted nothing to do with it anymore. But by that point, she did. Then she met Cat, who is a total psychopath. And the rest is history. I don't think Lindsey is necessarily a psychopath herself, she's way too happy to kill people, sure, but I think she was genuinely in love with Cat. I think she's a very damaged young woman who fell for the wrong person after a lifetime of trauma. I still hate her though. Tbh, I think that's just Luke and Garcia's relationship at this point. I think it's less Penelope being actually mean, and more just teasing that he's in on now. 😭 And they were ambushed. Wonderful. Just what we needed. We finally get Spencer out of prison, and then this happens. Fantastic. Love this episode so much.
