Technically speaking, it's possible to be an unintentional traitor. If you share confidential information or access to parties that shouldn't have it. In this case we probably couldn't unequivocally call it treason, due to the lack of intent he had cause the destruction of the colonies. But traitor is an acceptable definition of the man and his actions. Or... A simly horny dickhead, more concerned with the overblown sense of his own self-importance. Too keen to ingratiate himself with someone who can further inflate his own sense of self worth. A man with a big brain that lets the small one do all the important thinking when it really matters. 😆
