Carl "Crusher" Creel aka Absorbing Man was once a professional boxer, notable beating Battling Jack Murphy. Battling Jack had a son named Matt who was blinded in an accident. After Jack died Matt spent some time in the St. Elizabeth's orphanage (another resident afew years later would go on to name herself Skye). And Matt Murdock would grow up to be Daredevil.
