I strongly dislike the whole "I'm keeping things secret to protect you" trope.It's tired and it's never really true. It always backfires. Nick is trying to have his cake and eat it too.

right? i dont like that. im glad that juliette said no tbh because it would be so unfair for her to marry someone she doesnt even know. i like nick but he needs to make a choice to either be honest with her, let her in and trust that she can be ok with it/handle herself ( she proved that she can ) or let her go.
