Merry Christmas, y'all! And Happy Holidays to everyone! It's funny, but I was thinking this morning about the way we append "Merry" so specifically to Christmas. That's interesting to me, because the meaning of "merry" has changed a lot over the centuries--it used to be a word meaning "brief", but because good times always went by so quickly, it became associated with those good times. The good times never seem like they last, the bad times seem like they drag on forever, and some days that seems like 2021 in a nutshell. So if you're reading this, and you're having a merry Christmas, remember to hold on to those good days. They're just as long as the bad ones, even if it doesn't always feel like it.

And I have a special Christmas treat for you folks, "Name It After Me"! (The story has more to do with Halloween than Christmas, but hey. Jack Skellington might like it.) Here's the linkroll.

The EMCSA is not updating this week, but here's the link to the Literotica version:

This week's Early Bird Reward story, "Like a Drug", will be posted momentarily. And thank you all for your Christmas gift to me of supporting my work!
