Good morning Astrid. Winning any of your books would be wonderful. They are hard to come by where I live. The reason for me is simple. I took up sketching and painting about a year ago. I started through the Domestika site where I went through several courses and each taught me a new skill. That is where I came across your class. I realized my passion is watercolor art but specifically Urban Storefronts. Something about them made me want to get up every day and draw and paint. So I purchased your first book and instead of simply coloring the pages I took time to actually draw them and paint them This past week I finished the last one and realized how far you brought me in this craft. Winning the book will give me the next chapter and step in my painting. I now sketch everywhere I go here on St CROIX a beautiful former Dutch island. I always love seeing the drawings and paintings you create as you inspire us to see something beautiful in the everyday. The thought of owning the French edition of your book takes me back to my student days, Inter-railing around Europe with my cousin. The most memorable of stops was Paris. Seeing a bride and groom on a motorbike in full bridal gown and DJ, heading down the Champs- Elyse, closely followed by the bridesmaid filming from the back of another motorbike with the Best man. Incredible sight, and would only happen in Paris!

Hey Astrid, Ik heb je boek Urban Drawing net gekocht. Mooi boek! Ook als je zelf al een tijdje tekent, staan er nog leuke, nieuwe (handige) tips in die ik zelf niet had bedacht 🤭. Dank je! Hello Astrid, my reasons are they let me see spaces I would like to visit. They make me feel like I’m in the actual space, walking down the street ready to stop inside the shop. They give me a feel of the place you are drawing. I love architecture and old buildings because they have a story to share of the past. You wonder what they could divulge of said people. Hi Astrid. I love your art work and course on domestika. Watching you and painting your illustrations has been a mindful escape for me and use it to relax. I found your work when I worked in a children's hospice and found it helped me to relax after difficult and sad days. I also live near a centre which delivers free sessions for adults with mental health difficulties. They get together to chat and learn new crafts for mindfulness. Hello Astrid. Congratulations on the new book. I love your art. It is like being taken on a trip with you and experiencing a bit of your travels. It is also great seeing some shops that I recognise.
