Tutorial: 3D Lettering (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

This reel shows how to make 3D letters on the Ladurée board by adding layers.

First, paint the letters in soft water yellow (cadmium yellow). Let this dry. Then add a layer to each left side of each letter. Think about where the sun is and how the light will hit the letter. On the other side, paint a darker line. I used a mix of yellow and Titanium red. But you can also use an orange color. Also wait for this layer to dry. If the shadow is not dark enough you can add another layer if you like.

To get more depth you can add a shadow next to the letter. This color should be a darker version of the background color. So here I added Paynes Grey to my pink base color.

Once the shading is done, you can add some high lights with your Gel Pen.
