SORRY THIS IS LATE

I thought I had something queued for Wednesday and when I realized the truth Patreon was down for maintenance. Having had a blasted busy day yesterday Thursday I completely forgot to come back and queue this for ya. So here you go. Apologies again.

This scene is from The Perdaeshian Chronicles which I started writing about 15 years ago with my brother. This scene comes from something written in the last 5. It features Zeth -the main character- and his love interest. ENJOY!

“I don’t suppose you’ve, uh, seen the castle gardens?” Zeth inquired of Myrïad.

She shook her pretty little head making her dark waves of hair sway back and forth.

“Eh, perhaps you’d like to?” Zeth tried hopefully.

“I’d be most honoured by such an opportunity.”

He felt his heart soar a little. “Um well let me escort you Milady Myrïad.” The young wizard offered his arm to the Fay. Myrïad carefully took the offer and let Zeth led the way.

When they reached the site, it was apparent no one else was there as there were no torches or lights enchanted to guide the way through. Zeth saw his opportunity to impress his companion with his magical skill.

“Um I’ll, uh, I’ll light our way.” He summoned his wand and performed the spells needed to cast ethereal lights out around them. It would have been faster and more sensible to simply light the enchanted fires upon the pre-existing torches and lanterns placed along the paths but Zeth wanted more than anything to prove his worth and his few talents that he did possess as a wizard.

Myrïad was grinning ear to ear as she watched the tiny balls of light float out spreading all around them. “You have a talent,” she murmured and a blushing Zeth led her forward down the garden path.

“Uh here you’ll notice our crocuses,” he pointed out.

“Aren’t those violets?”

“Oh?! Ehm yes perhaps you’re right yes my mistake,” he covered quickly –feeling embarrassed by being corrected.

“They’re a lovely colour!” she expressed in a soft murmur.

“Go on and get closer,” he encouraged. She did so with a grin.

Myrïad watched with awe as suddenly a single bloom detached and floated up to her hand. She took it and pressing it gently to her nose turned towards Zeth.

“Enchanted!” he exclaimed feigning a lack of involvement in the occurrence although his eyes were full of mirth.
