I should have posted a one-shot on Christmas but I've saved it for the New Year instead coz I had a quick speed writing of sappiness with Captain America  and my self-insert OC from years back lol

In all seriousness though I hope anyone who wanders across my humble Patreon this year is blessed and finds blessings in unexpected ways <3 Love you guys hope you can love yourselves and I'm so looking forward to the shenanigans of 2020 ahead with (hopefully) many more of you along for the ride! <3

Love, Britt xoxo

“I can’t believe it’s about to be 2020,” I murmured softly as we stood in the night air on the balcony. “Do you remember the last ‘Roarin’ Twenties’?” I asked Steve.

He chuckled. “I was two in the 20’s Britt.”

“Shit, right,” I laughed nervously. “World War 2; right crap I sometimes forget...”

“Don’t worry about it,” he assured, arm slinking around my waist as we took a moment to sip from our flutes.

“Now we can go through the twenties together,” he added a moment later making me smile.

“Yeah but then you’d remember most of the twenties coz that was your childhood up until the age of like 12 or whatever,” I argued.

“Okay fair. I suppose you’re right,” he conceded.

“Well...” I paused, unsure of how to continue. I wasn’t exactly sure what I had meant to say anyway.

Steve spoke instead, “I don’t feel like I need to compare decades. I’ve spent too much time thinking about time. I just want to be in the moment with you.”

I turned to him with what I imagine was a fond expression, “I can appreciate that.”

He stroked some hair away from my face as somewhere in the distance the countdown started. “Too much has gone on the last while. I just want to decide right now and promise you that this year and whatever wild decade is ahead that I’m...devoted to you and to us and I love you and time cannot change that. Happy New Year darling.”

“Happy New Year,” I exhaled gently as he leaned forward and our lips met in a tender kiss sealing a lifetime’s worth of hopes ahead.
