Transcript of today's 'Talk & Tell Me About It Tuesday' message:
I would like to thank everyone for their support during 2020 we have all had a difficult year but somehow have remained on the positive end for the most part
Myself personally my life has been tumultuous starting in July onward and I've gone through a lot of ups and downs which some you have heard of some I have kept to myself. However, these last few months have taught me a lot.
I knew that December I was going to take a lot of reflection on what I wanted to do going forward for my professional presence as a writer. And I have. The decision it has brought me to is to go on a temporary hiatus from Patreon and to slow down a little on my Facebook page Brittany Edwards, author as well.
Even when I have been doing well on releasing content consistently, on time and in variety, I always felt like I wasn't actually ahead of anything I was merely on a treadmill that was going to keep running and if I slowed down I would slip behind. There has been no proper time for reflection and no time made to improve. I have faced a lot of challenges internally and externally and it keeps bringing me back to similar conclusions. I've known for a long time that what I have going isn't universally successful but I knew I could work to get there. Yet, everything I've been doing still doesn't feel like my own definitions of success. More specifically and plainly: what I have isn't working for me.
So I'm temporarily going to just let go of the entire thing I'm doing and pick up the strings that need to be picked up for the future to work towards something I feel good about and that will be of worth by the standards I set and by external standards.
I put myself in different scenarios and situations this year on Patreon and then Facebook to try and step out of my comfort zone and try some new things to see whether they were worthwhile.
Now it's time to really just step back from all of it the good and the bad and see things not from being in them but by being out of them.
I really don't know how long I'm going to need for that but I do know that I don't want this to be a permanent thing. I do want to be present online. I just need to see how
I'm sorry if this brings disappointment to anyone. I appreciate that you had hope and optimism that therefore this announcement caused you to feel disappointed. Thank you. Please hold onto your hope, optimism and good vibes and send them along ♡
Again thank you to all who have supported me this year and in the past with comments, participation in events and giveaways, financial Patreon support, likes on my posts and clicking like or follow on my Facebook and/or Patreon.
If you haven't already, please check out the trulyhopelessromantic feedback form and fill it out. Link to be provided HERE I'm using the information from that to help me with my decisions going forward.
I want to let you know I'll still be around and actively connected to my accounts if you wish to comment on anything or PM me and I'll post occasionally to both platforms during the temporary hiatus but I'll reserve paid content for Patrons for after I end the hiatus. All existing content for Patrons exclusively will remain on Patreon and will still be available for patrons to access. If you sign up to be a patron during my hiatus I will still honour all mailed rewards and you'll still have access to everything on the site at your rewards tier.
Shout out to existing patrons Alia, Carfly, Staci, Ra and Robyn. You guys are extremely appreciated. You'll be the first to know of my plan going forward before I set it in place.
To all, again thank you and I hope you all are blessed.
