Yeah it's up to me... more or less. Often I’m not the one deciding what happens, I know it doesn’t make much sense. Sometimes I just think, “What would that character do?” It sounds strange, but for example, Luke and Lily’s breakup came about on its own. it wasn’t planned from the start and when I realized I was heading in that direction, I even felt bad about it haha.

Man I understand using Luke as a tool for conflict and to propel Lilly forward just hurts that he never got a character arc or growth but maybe it’s for the best. Like he had opportunities to change or establish boundaries with his work and time but just never seemed to figure it out. Kinda would have liked to see him turn things around and all but maybe at a certain point he got a little stale as a character.

Yes, I understand your point of view, but unfortunately, just like in real life, not everyone realizes they’re heading in the wrong direction and manages to do something to change it. Luke is so obsessed with his work that he doesn’t notice Lily slowly drifting away.
