why does the Higgins family have such a heart of gold!! I love that so many of the players ended up heading over there to be around people they love and are close too and that Higgins opened up his home for them to do that!! it was melting my heart 😭 Rebecca knowing that ted would be going through a rough time and taking him out to do some fun things was also such a touching thing for her to do and I always love seeing roy in new situations so that was a great plot to follow throughout this episode as well! what a great time!! 🩶

Mermaid Day

Yes, this was the first bonus episode, there's another one later this season, you'll know it when you get there.

Mermaid Day

A couple little fun facts about this episode..the actress playing the dentist and the "ussie guy" are real life mother and son. Also, when Higgins is toasting all the places the players are from, those are actually where all the actors hail from. We only see Jamie, Colin, Isaac, and Bumbercatch in the beginning because they have family close. (Colin is from Wales, Jamie from Manchester, etc) players with no close family go to the Higgins house.

Do you remember a scene in the first season .. one of the first few I think. There is a scene where Rebecca and Higgins are walking through and all the players are coming in from training .. and Higgins puts his hand up for a “high five” but they all ignored him. One year later most of them show up at his home for Christmas. I loved that.

aww, I love theses facts and mentally, I thought the dentist and the 'ussie' kid looked similar so that's incredible!! 🩶

omg I didn't remember that at all but that is so incredibly touching and to think, ted has really made all of this happen 🥹

There's no way Jaime went home to Manchester for one evening. Or Colin going to Wales. Remember they started the episode taking a "half day" for Christmas. And Ted states they have a game THE NEXT DAY. Taking a 3 hour train to Manchester at 2pm, and that assuming he leaves directly from the pitch to Kings Cross, only to have to return back the same night? Spending 6 hours in transport to spend 4 hours at home? And getting home at 1 in the morning? When you have to play the next day? Maybe. Just maybe. Since it's a filler episode I'll let it slide. But there's no way Jaime went "home" for Christmas. Also since it's a filler episode it's most likely that the actors weren't available because of other commitments. Because this was added after the original script was finalized and Apple ordered two more episodes. The second of these has a similar feel. With limited characters because of scheduling.
