guys- WHAT IN THE WORLD JUST HAPPENED. the whiplash and heart attack I just experienced is on a whole other level. I don't know what I was expecting but it was not that. I'm just so happy there was a flood of relief there at the end but oh my word that was an insane turn of events. I love that they went back packing, we know the gender of Sookie's baby and Emily is being petty again - it feels good to be back 🩶

I think it's implied that Rory told Emily off screen about leaving for Yale early, because when Lorelai tells her, "this is my last night with my daughter", Emily says "I know".

I just took that to mean that Emily knew the actual date of move in already because we always see her knowing about everything going on at Chilton. And that's why it stung her so badly because she assumed Lorelai just wasn't coming to dinner even though it was her last night with Rory. Because of Rory told Emily that she got the dates mixed up so Lorelai had to finish shopping, I feel like Emily would understand!

Yes exactly! I just thought that Rory wasn't actually going early, she just got the date wrong but Emily being Emily who is always in the know about that kind of stuff knew what the original date was all along!

The thing that bothers me the most about the Taylor storyline is that it's not a town event, it's the grand opening of his store. He's using Rory in his ad campaign (for free and without her consent) so he can make more money selling candy to kids. He's basically trying to cash in on Rory's popularity in town. At least Kirk got 20 bucks.
