so Keith and Lucas took the test. chances are, one of them is going to have it and I really feel like it's not going to be Lucas. Keith- I'm praying for ya buddy. Brooke killed it with getting better working conditions for her fellow crabs! I love Anna and Lucas' budding friendship and Nathan coming clean to Haley made me so happy- now if only haley could take some tips from that 🤔

THE CRAB SUITS OH MY GOD I FORGOT IT WAS THIS EP 😭😭😭

Taylor sucks, but at least she owned up to what she did... unlike our girl Haley. Like I love her, but she really pisses me off in this season lol I just don’t get it. She has no right get that mad at Nathan for this when she’s the one who cheated on him. Like why are we doing this? She should be the smart one here… but she’s clearly not acting like it. Doesn’t she know that she’s only making things worse? Or better yet, does she want them to? I’ll never understand, but I do appreciate them making her a flawed character, despite it being out of character. Anyway, I’m so glad that Taylor wrote that message at the end because she’s still her sister at the end of the day and wants to help her, even if she’s… you know 😬

The lack of Peyton in this ep tho 👀

This felt like a more character-driven episode than a plot driven one, which is totally fine by me. In fact, I think modern day television needs way more of these types of episodes I love that fighting for her coworkers was the push Brooke needed to realize that she could be a leader who cares, giving her that extra pep in her step to sign up for class president nominations. She genuinely looks so happy when she writes her name down on that nomination sheet, like she finally found something for herself after such a really rough number of months I also really love Lucas and Anna's friendship. In media, we always see queer men have friendships with straight women, but it is SO RARE to see queer women have friendships with straight men Felix was just background noise this episode, which is quite possibly the best place for him. At least I don't have to actively yell at my monitor when all he's doing is being a slightly smarmy boyfriend. Just a simple roll of the eyes when he showed up onscreen sufficed this time around I'm gonna need Haley to get her shit together soon. In a way, I am appreciative of the way this story humanizes Haley a bit. Even if it's in a negative way, I'm always a fan of adding layers and nuances to characters in order to give them depth, which for me means taking the good AND the bad Always looking forward to more!

I genuinely feel awful for Jules. Like, it's awful that she got in the relationship with Keith to break his heart for Dan, but like, she was in a terrible situation after an abusive relationship ended and Dan took advantage of that like he does with everything. I do believe her when she says she does love Keith. She needs to tell him the truth for sure, he doesn't deserve what's going on and it really sucks for him. But I do believe her and feel really bad for her. We know what Dan is capable of. And when you're desperate you'll get into pretty much anything. Taylor's such an interesting character to me. She clearly loves Haley, and I think she's grown to care about and respect Nathan too after he never responded to her advances and came clean to Haley (as well as the fact he listened to her problems and never told Haley), and I think it was out of both love for Haley and respect for Nathan that she sent that message to Chris at the end. For both of their sakes, she wants this marriage to work, I think. Though it always grosses me out that she was like 17-18 sleeping with a 14-15 year old Nathan... (15&17 not too bad, but 14&17 or 14&18 or even 15&18 is creepy and gross...) I love Anna. She often gets lumped in with Felix when people talk about her character, but she's so much more interesting and just a better character and much nicer! It's nice to see a storyline about a character struggling with their sexuality on this show full of straight people. 🤣 And I love her and Lucas' friendship.

oooooh 👀 idk if I should be scared or excited lmao

Ryann Rodkey

no deadass. like I get they are going to get Jenny but like.... LEMME SEE

Ryann Rodkey

I totally agree! I'm wary of Jules and if she was actually being honest with Lucas then of course that's horrible but given the circumstances I just really wasn't sure whether to believe her or not tbh. we've seen that she's quite a skilled liar and I wouldn't be surprised if the show was having her lie to us as the audience as well!

Ryann Rodkey

ahh yay!! I'm so happy you're enjoying!! 🩶

Ryann Rodkey

no totally! I think her intentions at the end were 100% from a good place. I just feel like it's going to come back and bite us in some way lol. I also like that haley is flawed but WHY DID HER FLAW HAVE TO BE CHEATING ON NATHAN 🤣

Ryann Rodkey

wow! you make a wonderful point about seeing a lot of queer men being friends with straight women in media but not the other way around. I don't think I've ever really thought much about that but you're so right!! I'm hoping we get to see more of them. I like how they seem to be each other's safe place a little bit. where they feel like they can be so open and honest with each other and that's so beautiful! so excited about Brooke running for school president. I think that would suit her incredibly well! also agreed on bringing back more character focused eps in current day media!! haley girl. GET IT TOGETHER

Pneville1127

Definitely excited! I've been waiting for your oth uploads!! Awesome reaction

it isn't and it's telegraphed with a lot of textual cues. we see jules on her own on the phone telling dan she told him the deal's over and her feelings are real for keith ie not performing for anyone, we immediately transition to her after keith says "desperation makes you do crazy things", there is no alternative reasonable explanation for her behaviour, emotional reactions or how dan speaks to her. she's just a charming woman who acted out of desperation and quickly fell for keith. the story being told is about dire circumstances can push someone to do. she was vulnerable and dan exploited her need exactly the way he exploits everyone near him with a weakness he can turn to his advantage. she was ashamed of what she was doing and the way it started hence the lying, it's also literally textbook for victims of dv to reflexively hide it.
