This episode was interesting.... to say the least! The only good part was Alec is the new head of the Institute, we love to see it. Also, anytime Alec goes against authority is a win for me, I can never get enough!

Now that I have seen the full thing I shall comment again. This episode wasn't necessarily a favorite of mine but I understood why it needed to be there. I also love when Alec stands up to the higher ups, especially when they are very clearly in the wrong. I feel like it was definitely the right decision to make him head of the institute. I can not wait to see what your reactions to the rest of this season will be!

I agree with you! It wasn’t my favorite for sure, but at least I wasn’t a ball of stress for one episode at least 🤣 what a switch up! I was SO happy Jace made him the head- I was not having any of Jace’s choices this episode, at all. Alec putting people in their place is my favorite genre 🤣🩶

Watching Jace trying to please his grandmother was a struggle. I'm so glad Clary told him that if he wasn't her grandson she would be locking him up as well. Go Clary! As much as I loathed her in the first season she got so likeable in this one. The Herondale grandmother is seriously so heavy handed, biased and such a hypocrite. I do get that she suddenly got her long lost grandson back but I would think that with her favorite quote "emotions cloud judgment" she would see that Jace is NOT the perfect choice to be the head of the institute. At least Jace passed it on to Alec (he was so happy! I can't with him!). Now going to the iffy territory, I actually like Clary and Simon together now. They are fun to watch. They obviously care for each other so what that she's in love with Jace. I do believe that with time she would get over him (particularly when she was sort of disgusted/disappointed in him this episode). Which is why I wouldn't mind Jace and Maia getting together. They both get on my nerves occasionally - go do your thing somewhere, preferably off screen, problem solved. But it's clear that neither of them cares about the other one and that it was just one night stand. Well, I would love to say that from now on everything is going to be stress free and pure bliss but I feel like this show gives freely with one hand and takes something else away with the other.

During this ep I wanted to shake some sense and maybe give a few cuffs to several people. Firstly, Jace, I understand that you finally have a relatively «normal» family member (tho she is so biased and full of prejudice and very unreasonable for her age and status), but you don’t need to blindly follow everything she says just to prove yourself. And btw you already have a family - Alec and Izzy. Don't forget that blood isn't everything. Secondly, Alec, baby, you know Magnus and you know when he really gets overdramatic, clearly it's not the case this time to throw such words around. And tbh it was hurtful hearing that after everything he's been through recently just bcs he helped with your friends' stupid plan. But good for Alec tt he quickly came around , stood for himself and Magnus, apologized and everything is as it should be again. Love that for them! Finally Dot, girl you know that Magnus is in love with Alec, so WTH are you doing with going for the kiss?? You are friends for such a long time, so be there for him as just a friend. Hands off! For the next 2 eps maybe you'll need some tissues)… you know what, keep that kleenex near you till the end of the season) just in case 😉

I agree! I was so with Clary on this one! I'm really starting to connect with Clary more and like her as a character! Alec being so happy and excited about becoming the head- I wanted to cry at his little smile 🥹 I do like Clary and Simon for sure-their chemistry is so great, I just know she actually has probably stronger feelings for Jace, which isn't fair to Simon even if she's trying to make it work! Man oh man, it better be a one time thing, I don't think I could handle it if it wasn't lol and at this point, I'm expecting everything to go wrong always lol 🤣

That was my thing- like why is he just doing everything she says because she says it and made him head of the institute when he's always had a backbone before? also you're so right about Alec and izzy being his family, even more so than her at this point with the bond they have! I was so happy Alec immediately went and apologized and was so happy that he at least spoke up about the tracking! also idk what dot was thinking, but I was hating it lol oh good, MORE TEARS lol 🤣
