This episode was just heart wrenching, from not knowing what's gonna happen to max, to malec's angst to being so frustrated that they don't realize Jonathan was right there. First off, can Malec catch a damn break? I just need my boys to be okay and happy- Second- thank god Clary followed her instincts and took a look at 'Sebastian's' hand. So many emotions this episode and not enough time to deal with em lol, it was just one hit after another. This is my top episode this season, mostly for all the malec flashbacks, that and I found the story of their little brother in turmoil to draw me in and actually wonder 'what's next'. Also your, 'I'm panicking internally', you were panicking externally too lol.

Finally the flashbacks!! I mentioned back in the first time episode that the writers kind of ‘made up’ for that scene through this episode! I feel like all those little moments added so much to their relationship🥹 So while the Jocelyn death didn’t happen in the books, Max actually was killed by Sebastian in the books :(( I figure the combination of killing a child on tv and not having the episode time to deal with the grief properly added into their decision to go against the source material with this one. This is one of those episodes where Clary really starts to shine as a shadowhunter for me! The idea of the electrum testing plus the way she didn’t hesitate to stab Sebastian and grab the mirror she really was awesome Also finally some more about the Maia backstory! She gets promoted to a main character during S3 and I feel like it’s then we get even more of her as her own character rather than an extension of others I can’t believe you’re almost at the end of S2!! I think this season finale and the 3A finale are probably my favorites so I’m excited to see your reaction!

This is my favorite episode of the whole second season. I normally hate flashbacks because they often interrupt the flow and take me out of the story. But here they were perfectly woven in and I feel they even enhanced the story. They were dealing with trust, insecurities and what is Magnus afraid of. Culminating with him saying that this is what he was afraid of and breaking up with Alec. They were relevant to the decision Magnus had to make. And the transition from them holding hands in the bed to the current time where Magnus was holding Alec's hand and Alec pulled away (how dare you) and Magnus looked wrecked... It hurt but it was so well done. As I said in the past I think their first time had more impact here than if they showed it those ten episodes before. At this point I cared about them much more and the break up was so... I'm not happy and yet I'm so happy we got to see that.

I'm so with you! why can't we just have happiness for Malec!? that's all I need!!! I was so impressed with Clary this episode! I loved the Malec flashbacks! I was feeling all of the things! I was panicking all over the place but my heart was racing 🤣🩶

they totally did make up for it with that flashback! oooh wow, that's so interesting, I'm so happy they didn't kill Max off, that would've made me so sad! I agree! I was loving Clary this episode, she fully went with her gut and it paid off! I'm loving this show so much and am so sad that there's only one season left ! brb while I go cry 🤣

I agree fully! I'm actually really happy that they waited to show us until this episode! it made the impact hit so much harder for me! also, one of my favorite scenes in this episode was the handholding scene/flashback. it shook me up! 🩶
