【ご報告】ペンタブレットを新調しました！ | [Update] I Got a New Pen Tablet! (Patreon)

いつも応援ありがとうございます。みなさまからいただいたご支援のおかげで、制作に欠かせないペンタブレットを新しくすることができました。

今回はそのご報告と、少しだけ制作スタイルのお話もできればと思います。

これまで使っていた板タブは、約4年前に購入したもので、長く一緒に頑張ってきた相棒のような存在でした。ただ、さすがに年季が入ってきていて、表面のコーティングが剥がれ、とくによく使う部分ではペン先がひっかかるような状態に。作業中に少しずつストレスを感じるようになっていました。

最近はAIの性能もすばらしく、AIだけでイラストを仕上げる方も多いと思います。でも、わたしの場合はペンを使って調整や仕上げを行う工程がとても重要なんです。

たとえば、

・AIがうまく理解しきれない部分に「ここに線があるよ」と伝えるガイドラインを描く・生成された画像の細かな修正や、エフェクトの追加・AIでは再現しにくい、微妙な感情や演出の描き足し　など

AIに任せるところと、自分で描いてコントロールするところ。そのバランスをとることで、「自分らしい」作品に近づけていくという試みを続けています。

だからこそ、ペンタブレットはわたしにとって“個性を形にするための大事な道具”なんです。

今回選んだのは、これまでと同じメーカーの上位モデルです。使い慣れたペンがそのまま使えるので、描き心地に戸惑いはありません。

・ホイール操作が加わって作業がよりスムーズに・ワイヤレス対応で机まわりがすっきり・板面にはA4のコピー用紙を貼って、表面の保護と描き味の向上も図っています

また快適に作業ができる環境が戻ってきたのが嬉しいです。

AIと手描きの両方を活かすわたしのスタイルにとって、この新しいペンタブレットは、創作の幅を広げてくれる心強い存在です。

画像生成AIのクオリティはどんどん上がっていて、今や誰でも綺麗なイラストを作れる時代になりました。だからこそ、これからは「個性」や「ストーリーの作り込み」がますます大切になってくると感じています。

Thank you always for your kind support.Thanks to your contributions, I was able to upgrade one of the most essential tools in my creative process—a new pen tablet!

I’d like to take a moment to share this update with you, along with a little insight into how I work.

The tablet I had been using until now was purchased about four years ago, and it’s been a reliable companion ever since.But over time, wear and tear started to show—the coating on the surface had worn off, especially in the spots I used the most, and the pen started to catch when I drew.It gradually became a source of stress during detailed work.

These days, AI technology is truly amazing, and many artists can create beautiful illustrations using AI alone.However, for me, pen-based adjustments and finishing touches are still a very important part of my workflow.

For example:

Drawing guiding lines to tell the AI, “There should be a line here”

Making small adjustments and adding visual effects to generated images

Adding emotional nuances and fine-tuned details that are hard to achieve with AI alone

I aim to strike a balance between what AI can do and what I want to shape with my own hand.Through that process, I try to bring each illustration closer to something that truly feels like “mine.”

That’s why a pen tablet is such a vital tool in expressing my unique style.

The new tablet I chose is a higher-end model from the same manufacturer I’ve been using.It works with the same pen I’m familiar with, so there’s been no disruption in how it feels to draw.

The addition of a control wheel makes the workflow smoother

It’s wireless, which makes for a cleaner, less cluttered workspace

I’ve also added a sheet of A4 copy paper on the surface for protection and to better replicate the feel of drawing on real paper

It feels great to work in a comfortable environment again.

For someone like me who blends AI generation with hand-drawn enhancements,this upgraded tablet is a powerful asset that helps expand my creative possibilities.
