Hello TGI Patrons, and welcome to the first TGI Monthly Host Special. First up, it’s me, Ryan, and we’re going to talk about my history of being a Nintendo gamer. From the Super Nintendo all the way to what comes next for the Nintendo Switch 2, and everything in between!

Each month, we alternate posting a Host Special, focusing on personal experiences, our favourite games, or just stories that peaked our interest. We wanted to provide some bonus content for our Patrons, so the Monthly Host Special is exclusive to Patrons of The Gamers’ Inn. Thank you for the support, and we hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed putting this together.

Thank you for your support and happy gaming!

I really enjoyed listening to this host special! It's interesting hearing someone have the same love for a series of consoles / company, but for different reasons. Smash Bros, Warioware, and Metroid were never my go-to's but I never doubted they made an impact with someone. I didn't grow up with brothers, so I think that's why I leaned more towards Zelda titles and other single-player RPG's. I've also started getting back into Pokémon Card collecting as a drug for my OCD centered around making things neat and organized; so I'm jealous of your badges and creepy backroom trading meet ups lol. All-in-all, great stuff! I look forward to more of these and am curious as to what topics we will get to see next :D

Thanks Josh! I had a lot of fun putting this one together. I do remember playing a few single player RPGs in the early Nintendo 64 days, but I really tuned in to that genre later on. Paper Mario 64 was a big one for me, but I ended up putting it down after it didn't continue the Super Mario RPG design/story/characters. Another obscure one I remember was Quest 64. I think we got it at a used game store. That was a weird one! As for future episodes, I have a few planned out, mostly focused on personal experiences with video games. I teased the next one a bit in this episode, but another hint I'll give is that involves video games in a social setting. Stay tuned! - Ryan
