Hi Patrons, Ryan here! I’m up next for our Patreon Host Specials, and this month I’ll be talking about Summer Gaming Memories.

What video games do you associate with summer? Can you think of a game that took over during the warmer months? I wanted to reach out to the Patrons and see if you had any stories you would like to share with me to include in the special.

You can leave your story in the comments, send a message through Patreon or Discord, or drop an email to info@gamersinnpodcast.com. The last day to submit is June 23rd.

Thank you all for the support and helping out with the next special!

Descent was a summer of 1995 game for me. Spent all my latchkey time at home playing that.

I think the first game that took over a summer was Yar's Revenge from Atari. It came out in May of 1983, so I probably got it for my birthday. A very simple Breakout-like game, Yar's Revenge was *addictive*. I managed to score over 100,000 points in my best single session. This was tough because the game mechanics became extremely fast and more random as the game progressed, plus the addition of bright backgrounds in the later levels. Lots of good memories with that game.
