there’s a lot to say about modern aus and Ci’an but the main thing is that she tends to be forced into a box of one singular gender identity. which sucks for someone who is genderless in her canon variant.

it’s always either by an unwanted spouse or an external factor of an unwanted mother/father figure but it always resorts to them putting her in a box! this is, by all means, horrible but the fun part is that canonically… ci’an was masc before she was ever fem. so i suppose there’s some horror at losing a part of yourself that you were born with while feeling like the skin you wear is becoming too tight.
