Yessss Joleneeee is here!!!! She’s exactly what Beth needs right now. Everyone else in her life just isn’t getting through to her because, well, she’s pushing them all away. I love those quiet moments the show gives us, they really nail the emotional beats without needing to say much. Also, side note – how interesting was it that Benny only showed real interest in Beth after she beat him? That same spark we saw in Beth the episode before, when she lost to him at speed chess and then ran into her room. Beth is spiraling, and let’s be honest, we saw it coming. I kind of expected this breakdown after her mom died, but here we are. It feels like she’s a bit lost, unsure of what she really wants from her life right now. But hey, Jolene is here. I’m so excited for the final episode, but also, I’m not ready for this show to end!

Damn the ending of the post ep discussion. 7000 dollar funeral in the 1960s (that's like 50k+ today). 😂 Did they bury the mom in a golden pyramid or something? Can't wait for the last episode, this one was awesome and the discussion was really good, great points (well most part 🤣)!

Personally I would interpret Beth's tears at the end of the Borgov game mostly as an expression of shame. Feeling ashamed for having lost control beside the board (hungover, late, reliant on her pills...), and as a result having lost control over the board as well. While she tells Benny on the phone that her bad condition supposedly didnt make a difference, I think deep down she knows that it did.

Loved the reaction! Next episode is a great one. Just to clear up the funeral deduction. In the 1960's it probably cost something like $700 for a funeral. The reason she deducted it was basically to throw it in his face.

I mean you are probably not far off though. Many people have died from passing out in the bath. You're closer to the money than you think. The way I see it she was woken up by the knocking on the door which actually saved her. She was literally under water which means she passed out probably from all the drinking.
