It’s been a pleasure ❤️

Crazy were done with the BB universe

Nathan Jasper

Goodbye, Saul. It's been fun. On to the next best thing!

StevenFromNJ

when you wait all day for the finale but its bittersweet because its the finale

Josh Gibson

And the day finally comes. It’s been a pleasure revisiting the Breaking Bad universe with you, but one thing I won’t miss with this show ending - here in the UK after the opening credits there is an extra title card that pops up saying A NETFLIX ORIGINAL. You have no idea how frustrating it is syncing up to your video at the start only for that Netflix title card to throw me out of sync again and me having to re-sync it mid episode.

Oathkeeper_13

Yeah we are finally here and what a journey it's been. Again, they just nailed the finale. The writers of this universe are next level. Cannot wait for the Walking Dead though! To Pudgey's point in the beginning about Mike working for Saul, in my mind Mike probably feels somwehat indebted to Saul after the whole Lalo and Howard incident, and just seeing everything he's been through. He doesn't necessarily like or respect Saul by that point, but I always read it as Mike feeling like he at least owes him enough to work for him and protect him. Also I assume Gus would wanna keep tabs on Saul as well as get an inside scoop on clients/jobs Saul may be dealing with that Gus would take an interest in. Saul was the one to set Walt and Jesse up with Gus after all, so it seems like Saul and Gus's business and interests intersect sometimes. One more thing I'll add, Mayhew was the name Walt used when he met Saul for the first time, cause the first time they met Walt was posing as Badger's uncle. I think Chuck having the Time Machine book just means that Jimmy's relationship with Chuck is his regret. The way their relationship went and how it ended up. That's what he would change if he could, maybe not that specific moment necessarily. Kim is not a lawyer at the end, she was just saying her old card didn't have an expiration date on it so she essentially just lied her way in to see Jimmy one more time. What a way to end though. Walt is dead, Jesse is free, and Saul is in prison taking the fall for everything. Each character gets the ending they deserve.

Alex I.

It’s been an absolute pleasure rewatching my favorite show of all time with you. The BB/BCS universe might not be the most exciting in terms of action, but when it comes to storytelling and character development, I personally think nothing else comes close.

ynnk99

If you remember in the first episode of season 6 when they cleared out his house after the events of Breaking bad, there was a cut out of Saul which was dumped in the trash can. Now we've come full circle with him getting caught in a trash can

ynnk99

When Jimmy talks to chuck in this episode I think its just one day before the whole series started. And when Chuck picks up the book by H.G. Wells "The Time machine" and I'd like to think that this is an indication for the genuine moment Jimmy would go back to, back when everything was still intact

FearTheTREMOR

Jimmy didn't confess to save Kim. Nothing he said magically saves her from possibly getting sued by Howard's wife. He wasn't saving her, he was doing it for him. He was living a miserable life as Gene, a shell of himself until he basically relasped into Slipping Jimmy and got himself caught. It would've been weird if we give Jimmy a better ending than this. Like, Jimmy doesn't deserve to be free and ride off into the sunset like Jesse did. He's not a good person, but in the end, he did the right thing, and sure hes gonna die in prison, but he regained his soul. Saul is gone, but Jimmy is back. So it was never about him getting off scott free in my eyes.

Artin Dadgar

Glad to be on this journey with you guys! I had a great time rewatching the show after so long You guys caught the idea eventually, but Saul talking to Bill on the plane was on purpose. He wanted the officer to listen in and report that he had more to say. Thats what led Suzanne to call Kim. So excited to watch TWD next! 🥳

Murkyblack

Walt looking at the watch Jesse got him after Saul asks about regrets.

Munir

Walt looked down at the watch Jesse gave him when he was thinking about regrets. I think Saul was being genuine in the end. He heard that Kim listened to what he said about turning herself in and realized he didn't have any more excuses. He also finally came to terms with Chuck's death, what Kim was patiently waiting for their entire relationship. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire journey of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul with you two. I was especially impressed with your analysis of this show. It's slow paced compared to some, but the character writing and attention to detail of this universe is top tier.

block

Saul over 😔

Joe Lazarus

In my eyes, Jimmy's confession wasn't solely to save Kim or get her back, but rather to save himself and finally confront his self-destructive tendencies. He sought redemption, not just for himself, but also for how Kim viewed him. Jimmy realized that living as the bland, forgettable Gene was not what he wanted, and confessing was a way to break free from the "Chuck's curse" of being defined by his past mistakes.

Matt Flynn

I can't remember what comment I read. Breaking Bad had a better story, Better Call Saul had better characters. Kim, Lalo and Howard are my top 3 characters this universe created. Nacho is 4th.

Jasper

I don't know if anyone cares to read my rather long comment 😅 but a few years back in college I wrote a very short essay on the final shot between Jimmy and Kim, so I thought I'd post it here since it also contains some of my main thoughts about the episode and the show overall: Jimmy and Kim look at each other, separated by a narrow gap and enclosed by parallel sets of prison bars. It’s a quiet but haunting image—two former lawyers now divided by the very institution they once served. The bars don't just represent imprisonment; they symbolize the moral and legal boundaries both have crossed. In legal terms, “the bar” once marked their shared identity as officers of the court. Now, it becomes a literal and figurative divide between them—between truth and denial, atonement and avoidance. Though both are complicit in crime, the real distance between them is not measured by law, but by conscience. As Mike once said, there are “good criminals” and “bad criminals.” The difference lies not in the act, but in how one carries the weight of guilt. Kim Wexler faces her guilt head-on. She confesses her role in Howard’s death, gives up her legal career, and begins a path of quiet atonement. Jimmy McGill, in contrast, hides behind the persona of Saul Goodman—a mask crafted from wit, bravado, and an aversion to self-reflection. For years, he refuses to feel anything real. But in the end, he reclaims his name and tells the truth. It costs him his freedom but restores his identity. This journey echoes Walter White’s arc in Breaking Bad. Walter creates Heisenberg to conceal his pride, insisting he acts for his family. Only in the final episode does he admit the truth: “I did it for me.” That moment doesn’t redeem him, but it reveals a man who, at last, stops lying—to others and to himself. Jimmy’s confession is similar. He doesn’t escape punishment, but rather embraces it to reclaim his lost self. The metaphor of the time machine deepens this theme. When Jimmy asks Mike and Walter what they’d change, they offer guarded but revealing answers—Mike speaks of the first bribe he took, Walter of a lost business opportunity. But when the question is turned on Jimmy, he jokes about a petty scam, evading the question entirely. Walter sees through him: “So you were always like this?” But he wasn’t. A flashback to a quiet moment with Chuck, his brother, reveals the emotional root of Jimmy’s evasions. Chuck, reading The Time Machine, invites Jimmy to talk—perhaps to reconnect. But pride gets in the way. Jimmy, aching for approval yet unwilling to show vulnerability, dismisses the offer. Chuck, equally proud, never expresses his love directly. Their relationship, built on unspoken affection and mutual disappointment, ends in silence. That unread book becomes a symbol—not just of regret, but of time wasted and conversations never had. And so, the final image of Jimmy and Kim is more than a farewell. It’s an answer to one of the show’s main themes: are all criminals the same? No. The bar between them isn’t just steel—it’s moral. Kim changed in time. Jimmy changed too, just later. Redemption doesn’t erase the past, but provides a sense of meaning going forward. Change, however delayed, is still change. And sometimes, stepping onto the right side of the bar begins by facing who you’ve been all along.

Oliver

The title is «its all gone»

John Robles

Jimmy saving Kim from the civil case wasn't the entire point of his sudden confession at the trial. Hearing the news that Kim was willing to confess her crimes take accountability inspired him to do the same. And be honest, for once in his life, compared to all the time he wasn't (as we see in the time machine flashbacks). In the end, Kim ended up being his moral compass, the way it used to be, and arguably was always meant to be. I think this is the common understanding of the finale, and also the one I agree with.

StevenFromNJ

At first, the black and white episodes somewhat bothered me, but when it all concludes with Jimmy and Kim, as it always does in this show, everything falls into place, as it parallels the old romance movies they would watch together. In a weird way, BCS is really just a love story between Jimmy and Kim.

Romeo Livingston

Gonna miss you guys reacting to the breaking bad/BCS universe 😣 glad I was here tho 🖤

Walt

Jimmy’s speech was completely genuine and wasn’t about “saving” Kim. It was about redeeming himself. Like he said, he gave extra information about Howard’s murder to get her there, and then admitted he made it up. That’s about it, he just wanted her to be there and see him follow her lead and take his soul back. Everything she put in her affidavit still stands, and she still has Cheryl Hamlin’s potential civil suit hanging over her head His relationship with Chuck was indeed his biggest regret. Spartan is pretty much on the money with everything he said about that The scene with him and Walter is really about two men who, faced with the question of their biggest regret, both deflect and give bullshit answers. The focus on the watch he got from Jesse implies that Walter’s biggest regret was everything that he did to him

J_Fley .

I'm pretty sure that scene with Chuck is his "turning point." From my understanding, that was the night before his botched Kettlemans scheme that lead him to Tuco, Nacho, Lalo and everything that came with that, but I do like Spartan's interpretation. Overall, I think it was a nearly perfect finale. Loved it!

micah

end of an era 💔 thanks for the ride spartan and pudgey!!!!!

Isaac_

Feels like y’all are trying to outsmart yourselves with his confession. The point of confessing to everything, imo, is to show his regrets, to show and take responsibility for his actions. Not to appear stronger than Walt in such an egotistical way. Saul never cared about looking strong and would often appear weak to get what he wanted. This was just him trying to be honest and accountable. It is completely true that Saul was more powerful than Walt in many ways, specifically because he can be the guy that looks weak. I think to some extent we all fall for this in Saul. Now as to whether he actually believes this and can know this or truly take accountability, that’s debatable for sure. But to me, his confession is just that, a confession. The flashback to chuck is mainly important to show that someone told jimmy he could take a new path, which is something chuck did for jimmy a lot in their relationship

Shut Up Meg

breaking bad and better call saul imo have some of the absolute best endings in television. the writers really are on another level here and know how to tie up everything perfectly

Joey Falgren

I’ve watched a lot of channels react to BSC and breaking bad because they’re some of my favorite shows. But I wanna thank you guys because you’re the only ones I’ve seen who seem to actually understand the messaging behind the shows 😂

Bill B.

I think he made the extra confessions so Howard’s wife would hear that he got an extremely long sentence, and that it was his fault in convincing Howard that Howard was responsible for Chuck’s suicide. And I think that makes Howard’s widow not sue Kim for all she’s got. I know everyone’s saying the opposite, but this is my opinion. He truly loved Kim and gave up his freedom to help her.

Oliver

This is a perfect episode and a perfect ending to jimmy

Duder03

I came for Breaking Bad and stayed for Spartan and Pudgey. Great reactions as always.

Bill B.

The lack of an expiration date was simply her way of getting into the jail. She officially resigned from being an attorney. She can reapply, she probably will apply in Florida if I had to guess.

Tim Martin

That iconic shot of Kim and Jimmy sharing a cig leaned against the wall…just like the first episode in the parking garage. Last episode of season 5, I think, Jimmy is trying to convince Kim that she wouldn’t really be ok with ruining Howard. She turns around and gives him the double finger guns bang bang! Now Jimmy does the same double finger guns as Kim is leaving the prison. One more little detail— Kim still isn’t a lawyer. She only used her bar card to pose as a lawyer to get inside for one last visit with Jimmy. And it appears to be a valid card because there is no expiration date and obviously she wasn’t required to surrender the card when she voluntarily resigned.

StevenFromNJ

Would really love to know which show you think is better OR which show you think has better rewatch value

Tim Martin

There are so many subtle callbacks I couldn’t possibly name them all, but a few I noticed: The flight Saul and Bill were on was Wayfarer airlines…the same airline that collided with the smaller plane in BB. Saul is wearing the plane crash memorial ribbon on his lapel during his court appearance. I believe the writers even telegraphed Saul’s capture during the opening of S6E1 when the people clearing out his mansion placed the life size Saul Goodman cardboard cutout into the dumpster. You guys should go back and watch that opening scene again. It would be very interesting 😁

Tim Martin

One more comment (sorry for so many) but I don’t think anyone has mentioned this: You guys seemed to be unsure of why Saul referred to Walter as “a man who said his name was Mayhew”. If you recall, Walter was posing as Badger’s Uncle (I believe?) Badger’s real name is Brandon Mayhew.

Paul Walker

"The name's McGill. I'm James McGill" absolutely broke me. What a perfect ending to an incredible series!! I also love that Rhea Seehorn has said in interviews that she thinks Kim will continue to visit Jimmy in prison.

KK

Well done! He didn't do it just for Kim. That is explained by the line "The name's McGill, I'm James McGill". He stopped being Saul Goodman in that moment and went back to being a McGill, someone has brother could at least accept. I'll miss you guys! See you for HOTD next year!

ser harsher

In the end Jimmy embodies all three of his identities. He's Gene when he's baking, Saul in the way he connects with the other prisoners, and finally, he's Jimmy when he reunites with Kim.

ser harsher

Walter's regret was destroying Jesse. He was looking at the watch Jesse had given to him on his birthday.

Bill B.

And if you two ever make it to the USA, you have to try Cinnabon. They taste so so delicious that you know they’re so bad for you. Like eating one, you’ll probably need to run a mile to burn off all those carbs. But totally worth it! I have one like once a year. 😄

Bill B.

Wow, I think this is my third rewatch, never noticed any of that before! Absolutely brilliant!

Sean

Australia has Cinnabon too

Pablo

Yeeess

micah

would be funny to check out the blooper reel from all 6 seasons its on youtube

N M

1. Jimmy's confession at the end in front of the Judge does NOT exonerate Kim at all, because his confession had to do with his role in the WALTER WHITE CRIMINAL investigation, which happened AFTER Saul's time with KIM.

N M

2. He did get the Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream concession to go along with his 7 year sentence, but gave it up when he reversed his story and decided to tell the truth, and then received 89 year sentence instead.

yemmlie

What a ride! <3 Been a pleasure rewatching the show with youse. One thing, the implication is Kim just snuck into the prison posing as Jimmy's lawyer because her New Mexico Bar ID didn't have an expiration date so got her in to see him, she's not a lawyer again and would probably have zero chance of being reinstated after the Howard Hamlyn stuff. I have hope she dealt with the civil suit and continued helping people in the for free legal aid charity place.

Ara Mahrejian

tbh, for me the ending and confession in court was partly for Kim, yes, but more importantly about him finally being true to himself, being accepting to himself. He's always been running around trying to compare himself to his brother, to others, creating new personas, and for me its a beautiful way and probably best way of closing the series, the character's arc, to finish with him being straight, being honest for once, and just accept the reality he has created for himself and its consequences. There's a big win in him declaring that he's "Jimmy McGill" and that Jimmy has achieved all that (with all the negatives), in peace with who he is.

James Waters

It is the end. First of all I view the final stand he takes as less about trying to impress Kim or do anything for Kim, but more to show her that he is finally being honest and himself after years of hiding from things and deflecting. But also on a more general note, I reckon you guys are building one of the best back catalogs of reaction content out there. Look forward to binging all the breaking bad and better call saul reactions at some point.

AlrightThere

Amazing finale to an amazing series. One thing I like to think is that Kim from here visits Saul often as his lawyer just so they can share a cigarette together. I'd like to think this isn't the only time and they carry it on. Also I believe Jimmy/Saul whatever we wanna call him does well for himself in prison. Everyone is going to like him in there.

keyton tracy

I subbed to you guys for breaking bad, then for better call Saul and now I’m sticking for the walking dead. Y’all are awesome! Super glad you enjoyed this universe. Super excited for the walking dead, first show I ever fell in love with. 1-6 seasons are absolute peak television

N M

Hank Schrader’s wife Marie had front row seating for 2 elaborately concocted victim stories that she knew were false but were brilliantly told: once by Walter with his videotape ‘confession’, and again by Saul in-person.

N M

When is the BB re-watch with more in-depth analysis? 🧐

N M

But why would Saul have this “come to Jesus” moment of repentance and confession when he’s always been Slippin Jimmy? I’m still not sure what was the turning point for him. It seems like it was when he found out that Kim came in on her own to confess to the DA, but she’s always had a conscience from the beginning, but Jimmy was always a con artist or looking for the angles.

spartanandpudgey

awesome! thanks for joining us and excited for the next journey 🙏🏼🔥

N M

At that point in Walt’s timeline Jesse tried to burn his house down, collaborated with Hank, burn his money , and got Hank and Gomez killed. Maybe he was thinking he should have followed Mikes advice: No half measures.

Grayson

Or he may have been thinking that Jesse was his biggest regret. Prior to them changing their identity he basically handed Jesse over to the nazis after he blamed him for Hank’s death

N M

The creators of BCS could even decide to resurrect the series — Kim returning as a full time attorney, Saul getting released through some unforeseen reason, Jesse returning to NM, Skinny Pete and his buddy returning, Walter Jr. as well.

AlrightThere

Honestly if they did that I wouldn't feel satisfied. I think it would be disingenuous to the story and the characters. I think yes that would be awesome if that actually happened but realistically it won't and honestly this show is realistic.

MarisoL

Kim one of the very few person's left who calls him Jimmy. He spent so much time running from that identity and at the end his favorite does.
