The Lip guy was in 1986. They are causing the power plant incident in both worlds that created the nuclear waste that eventually leads to the apocalypse. They went to the 1950s to blackmail the major to ensure the power plant gets built. They stole the power plant key later from Doppler so they could access the power plant, and killed him in the process. They stole the plans of the power plant so they knew what they had to do, and killed Claudia's assistance just because she happened to stumble on them.

We saw the World 1 older Bartosz. It's hard to remember as you don't know who he is. But we see him briefly in season 2.

I dont think adam is talking about ending existance but ending the whole cycle and therefore the whole winden family tree in both worlds

When Martha woke Katharina up and asked her if she believes in fate, it mirrors the same scene when Jonas also woke Hanna up and asked her the same question .They were both,Katharina and Hanna, also startled🥹 I just noticed that from the rewatch, wow this show.

Middle aged Jonas didn’t know about world 2, he was never rescued by alt Martha, he doesn’t know that one version of him dies. They are different variants so to speak.

Also… Pudgey’s understanding is the one that is correct. The loop is created by those 2 worlds, there is no additional loop or scenario they way Spartan is understanding.

Just when you think you are starting to catch on, this show throws another wrench in the mix. I need to rewatch this episode again. I really don't think anyone knows the truth except for maybe Adam, but he doesn't have all the pieces it seems because they keep repeating everything. I feel like the Origin, which is represented by the three men who are the offspring of Jonas 1 and Martha 2, is why the loop was created because it crossed both worlds. Adam thinks by getting rid of this that it will fix everything. However, he still exists and he is from the 1st world. I may not be making sense. My thinking is that once something exists, it leaves an imprint. The idea of going back in time to prevent it from existing in the first place is somewhat flawed because once they go back they are now in that time in which they continue to exist until they travel back if they can. Because world 1 and world 2 are influencing each other from the time travel some remnants of the travelers remain even after they are gone hence all the Deja vus. I am wondering about the gaps also and what that means.

I think you guys got lost in this one. There are only 2 worlds. One is Adam’s world, one is Eva’s world. The bifurcation is part of that same loop. One Jonas becomes Adam, the other dies in world 2. There is no additional world 1 without Jonas. World 1 always has Jonas becoming Adam. Eva doesn’t want to change anything , she wants the loop to continue forever. Adam wants it to continue up until the point where he can kill alt Martha carrying his baby. Since his baby is the beginning of the family tree (father of Tronte), he believes that will end the bloodline of the families and erase their existence , did he succeed? We will see

That was the same Jonas. But from different points in the timeline. It's not the same situation as the Jonas that grows up to become Adam and the Jonas that dies in Eva's world.

Either way it’s still two different Jonas’ around the same age at the same event. Like there are three Martha’s shown at a young age, it doesn’t say how many Jonas’ there are going about the world(s) at one time

Still it's the same Jonas, the one who passed a whole year with granny Claudia after the two left older Mikkel in S2 ep5. Jonas brought young Mikkel to the cave sometime within that year.

But it's not two different Jonas around the same age at the same event. It's the same Jonas at different ages at the same event. The Jonas that takes Mikkel through the caves is the same Jonas that was with Mikkel outside the caves, but roughly 8 to 20 months older (it is not clear if he had already spent the year with Claudia by the time he takes Mikkel through the caves). With Martha at this point it is not clear if it's the same Martha at different ages, or if it's different Marthas. I think the confusion in this thread is that we now literally have 2 different versions of Jonas. So calling the same Jonas at roughly the same age "different Jonas" is not really accurate.

You both aren’t understanding what I’m stating, yes it’s the same Jonas but it’s two Jonas in the woods at the same time that night Mikkel went missing, showing that yes one Jonas at his age dies while one is (not middle age or Adam) going about at the same time. One dies, one does not during the show being shown to us as it happens and as a memory. A lot of reactors don’t recall that Jonas when he dies “how does he become middle age/Adam if he dies unless this is new”

Now you're just creating more confusion. The quantum entanglement split of Jonas has nothing to do multiple versions of the same Jonas running around.

Not confusion at all, just that there are more than one “similar age” versions of Jonas’ as there are Martha’s, we only see the one we follow and the one in memory of middle age when he’s young and doesn’t get saved by Martha from W2

Just to clear up a bit of confusion! The three cleft lip men weren’t triggering the apocalypse at the end (the montage with the mirroring), they were triggering the “accident” in the volume control system in 1986 that originally caused the passage to be created. The old man and little boy went to one world, and the middle aged one went to the other, hence the different doors. They got the key to the volume control system by killing Bernt Doppler (Helge’s father) in the wheelchair.

Yep, and I love how the oldest version is basically showing the youngest version how to do it, so when he's the middle aged version he can do it on his own, continuing to perpetuate the unending cycle.
