Wow, one of Pudgey’s lowest IQ reactions no offense. We knew from season 1 that there were games all around the world. Y’all missed the whole point of the show, Gi-hun’s character arc was done so well and his character really emphasized the main point the director was trying to make. Also did y’all really not recognize Cate Blanchett? How y’all not going to know the literal icon of your country?

Julien

I haven't watched the reaction yet but regardless of how they reacted, casually hurling "low IQ" at a reactor is gross. That aside, I didn't recognize Cate Blanchett either, though I've seen tons of her movies, including LOTR more times than should be legal. Sometimes people miss things. Chill.

Wow, one of the lowest IQ comments I've ever read no offense.

We waited 4 years for the detective to find the island again for him to finally get there, pack no cell phone for potential evidence collection and just his gun, find his brother, say "why" then watch his brother leave and him to also leave and do nothing. Then afterwards, gets landed with a baby and lives happily ever after. Probably the most pointless story in the show imo. 222's smurf account winning was pretty funny though considering Gi-Hun literally does nothing in the final game, he literally just stands there watching the rest argue and he gets lucky it was so underwhelming since thats his big "fuck you" to front man and how does it prove his way better than front mans going in and killing everyone with the knife instead. If netflix milks this out like we all expect, the only way an american squid game will be good is if Mr Beast is the front man

Great reactions Spartan and Pudgey — thank you for joining in on this journey! Its been great watching you guys for the last couple years. Personally, I found the finale to be average at best. To start, I really appreciated the meaning behind Gi-Hun’s sacrifice. He began the season completely broken, but through Ms Jang’s words, he found hope again and chose to protect the baby and Jun-hee which was powerful and meaningful. That said, a few aspects of the finale didn’t resonate with me: The detective subplot: The writer spent significant time building up his investigation (in two seasons), only for him to get about 2–3 minutes of screen time on the island. It felt like a wasted thread. I would’ve preferred if he actually reached the island, had a confrontation with the guards (even take down some of the VIPs), discovered Gi-Hun’s body, and had some kind of showdown or tension-filled moment with his brother. Then In-ho could escape and the rest of the finale could unfold from there. The 6-month time skip: This felt abrupt. It made it seem like the detective simply gave up, moved on, and resumed life without any evidence or closure. The final game: Season 1's finale worked so well because we were emotionally invested in the remaining players (Sae-Byok, Sung-Woo, and Gi-Hun)—we had shared that entire journey with them. In contrast, this season's final game included several characters I didn’t feel connected to (with the exception of Minsu, Myung-gi, and Gi-Hun). That emotional weight was missing. In summary, I think Season 2 had some strong plotlines—the Frontman participating, Gi-Hun’s friend’s involvement, the hide-and-seek game, etc.—but the ending fell flat. I don’t mind tragic or bittersweet endings (e.g AoT). I just felt this one lacked the emotional payoff and closure the season had been building toward.

Humans are…a multitude of things. They can be evil, selfish, cruel & greedy, but they can be kind, selfless, determined, compassionate etc. At the time I hated the finale, in that I really thought there could be a happy ending, but in the time after, I’ve realised it was probably true to the show to be as it was, & was wishful thinking to get happiness for everyone. But I do think Jun-Ho’s story felt like a letdown, as he spent so long finding the island to then do next to nothing there.

very well summarised review and this is very similar to how we feel as well! thanks for joining us for the ride 🙏🏼

I wanted to let y’all know that the woman at the end is (no exaggeration) THE most iconic Aussie actor ever, Cate Blanchett! Also widely regarded as one of the greatest actresses of all time. I just think it would be cool for you guys to be aware of that haha.

Not a perfect ending but it's to be expected when a show was originally wrote for a single season. If you guys are looking for more Kdramas, my two recommendations at the minute would be 'The Glory', a revenge thriller that is quite intense, and 'All of us are dead', a zombie series set in a high school which could be good to compare now you're watching TWD.
